EXPOSE YOURSELF IN COSTA MESA CALIFORNIA REAL ESTATE!   There is much debate among real estate professionals about the value of holding an Open House.  Some insist these events help get the house sold.  Others argue it's an outdated practice in the digital age of virtual tours.  However, it's been estimated that nearly half of all buyers who visit open houses first learned about them on the Internet. With all the time and money that an agent puts into marketing your home, an Open House puts those very targeted buyers inside your home and in front of your representative.  One of the best aspects of the Open House is the feedback that visitors provide, feedback that can suggest you change your approach or make needed improvements. Aside from interest generated by the Web, the signs your ...

The Living Room Salon in Costa Mesa The Living Room Salon is located at 125 Rochester Street, in East Side Costa Mesa is an eclectic salon. The Living Room salon occupies a former auto repair house, and there are metal doors, and crystal chandeliers. Also, there is incredible art work displayed throughout. I have been going to the Living Room for several years, and my stylist is Megan Kiefer. Megan does a great job at color and cut. She has an assistant Lonnie Kohlmyer and they are an amazing team. They are friendly and very professional.  I highly recommend the Living Room Salon in Costa Mesa. I have found all the staff to be friendly and professional. The Living Room Salon utilizes Kerastase products, so you know you are getting the best products utilized on your hair. They also have...

Do Costa Mesa Short Sales Come with Wannabe Prices?   For a discussion of why Costa Mesa short sales are often priced well under fair market value, please see Orange County Short Sale Prices.   This post is about managing your expectations regarding price when you buy or sell a Costa Mesa short sale and also understanding why pricing is so important.   Pricing a short sale way under market or making an offer to purchase a Costa Mesa short sale way under fair market value (the value at which a willing and able buyer would purchase it from a willing and able seller) may seem like a great idea in some ways, (after all pricing low may result in getting a quick offer, and buying a home cheap seems like a perfect idea) but the banks may see it differently.   Before approving  Costa Mesa short...

Costa Mesa Real Estate News - Costa Mesa Market Report Originally no more than a way station built by Spanish missionaries, Costa Mesa's first real estate development occurred in the 1880s. This failed to prosper, but Costa Mesa has thrived.     Long time residents may remember when the area was called Fairview and Paularino, but today, the city is a focal point in Orange County with the Orange County Performing Arts Center, South Coast Repertory Theatre and South Coast Plaza as major drawing points. It is hard to believe that Costa Mesa was once nicknamed "Goat Hill" because of its rural flavor.     The modern day Costa Mesa real estate market began as beach bungalows just minutes from the ocean. Even then, Costa Mesa, bordering Newport Beach, captured the best of Newport Beach living ...

THE BUYER'S BLUEPRINT IN COSTA MESA CALIFORNIA REAL ESTATE Once you find a home you love and are ready to make the commitment, consider the Offer To Purchase as your blueprint for executing a successful transaction.  Your real estate representative will present your offer to the seller's agent, and the ball will be rolling. Your real estate agent will draft this document with you, explaining all of your options and what will happen once the offer i...

Eastside Costa Mesa Christmas Lights   If you've been to the Peanuts' House located at 2249 Santa Ana Ave. in Costa Mesa and have had a chance to visit Santa, who will be there through 12/23 from 7 to 9pm, and you still haven't had enough of the Christmas spirit, continue down Santa Ana to Lilac, which is just across from Kaiser Elementary. Down amidst the cul de sacs just off Lilac and Santa Ana, you will find that many of the homes have terrific Christmas lights displays.  Iris even has Santa on the corner, and if you're really lucky, the kids might even be out selling hot chocolate. If you know of other great Christmas lights displays, please be sure to comment below so that we can all enjoy them as well

Costa Mesa, California, home and property owners have been through soft market times recently and look for reason to be optimistic about upcoming January 2011 home sales.  December home sales have been slow at Costa Mesa and other South Orange County areas.  Home sellers at Orange County look for Super Bowl Sunday to kick off the big home buying season.  But this year it's late ... Super Bowl XLV scheduled for Sunday, February 4, 2011, at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. Costa Mesa home selling market shows pattern of decline during Januarys as compared with Decembers. December 2007 saw 31 Costa Mesa homes sold, with average sold price of $606,234. January 2008 saw 26 Costa Mesa homes sold, with average sold at 565,786. December 2008 saw 78 Costa Mesa homes sold, with average sold price of $...

Who Fix M? I Fix M Do you need an auto mechanic in the Costa Mesa or Newport Beach area? I Fix M is an auto mechanic and is owned by Steve and Kimberlee Cusumano, and it is a place that I have utilized myself and would definitely recommend.  I Fix M's address and contact info is: 1720 Placentia Avenue Costa Mesa, CA 92627 949.645.5592 My daughter and I recently took her Chevy Tahoe to I Fix M in Costa Mesa at the recommendation of one of my neighbors. To make a long story short, there was a multitude of things that needed to be addressed on the Tahoe. Steve and his crew at I Fix M did a complete tune up and now it is running great.  Steve explained that with proper maintenance, the Tahoe would run for a long time to come. And Steve also had it back within a day so that my daughter coul...
