The San Diego County Fair is back for 2021 2020 was a disappointing year for San Diego County Fair lovers – the pandemic forced the cancellation, as it did so many other events. But the San Diego County Fair is BACK in 2021, and Friday June 11th is the big day – Opening Day, that is! Many will be saying TGIF for more than the typical Friday reasons as a result. Things WILL look, and feel, different this year with a somewhat scaled back version of the fair offerings plus attendance will be limited to avoid huge crowds. The nation’s largest County Fair (although perhaps not true with the smaller version) runs through July 4 with gates open from 11 am until 9 pm. Scream Zone 2020 Opened October 1stDel Mar CA The 2020 Scream Zone opened last night, October 1st, in Del Mar, as it has for 23 years. It's located at the famed Del Mar Fair Grounds ("scare grounds" as they say) and runs through Halloween October 31st.  The Scream Zone has long been a popular, interactive Halloween event in San Diego, and you can expect 2020 to be as good as ever, with some changes to comply with Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions.  What’s new this year is this is now ONLY a drive-through haunting for standard sized vehicles – no motorcycles or oversized vehicles (e.g., RVs, limos) are permitted.
