As one of the top realtors in the community of Fusion in Hawthorne.....I just can't figure out why the real estate market is SO slow and nobody is selling their homes. Fusion South Bay is a smaller gated community so there are bound to be ups and downs but never like this.We put together a report every year comparing the number of sales to the previous years and 2023 YTD is the slowest year we've ever seen.In 2021 there were 21 homes sold in Fusion.....then things got slow.  2022 saw only 8 sales all year long and then in 2023 there have only been 4 with no listings in the past 2 months. We've observed for years what an odd real estate market Fusion South Bay is, as it just doesn't always seem to follow the guiding principles of supply and demand.There are times when nothing comes on the market for months at at time and it would definitely seem that demand would be on the rise. Sometimes that's the case and anything that hits the market gets sold quicky....and sometimes new inventory piles up as is the current case.What's even stranger is that sometimes things sit and sit and then when one home sells.....there's a rush on the others. Having said that we seem to be at one of those moments when inventory (depsite high demand) of new homes on the market seems to keep piling up. The real estate market in Fusion South Bay doesn't always follow the normal trends and patterns of some of the surrounding neighborhoods. Unlike the surrounding cities of Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach in which home inventory has been down and prices are on still on the rise, the market in Fusion comes in waves. As of several months ago there were almost no homes for sale and when one came on the market it quickly sold.
