One of my all time favorite shows is HBO's ‘Entourage' on Sunday nights! Not only is it hillarious, but I really do feel it gives you a glimpse into what living that type of jet set Hollywood lifestyle is like. Although I showcase a lot of condos as the Hot Prop, I am always on the lookout for quality single family homes in prime neighborhoods for under 1 million. This week, I had previewed all of the new condo listings I needed to see and was on the hunt for a great house to share with you. After seeing quite a few properties, things were looking bleak. What I saw was either over priced, located on a bad street, or just plain dumpy. Money!  On a recent visit to the Massachusetts Film Office, Nick Paleologis explains the tax credits available to movie makers in MAss.  His explanation is that $1 is actually $1.25 in MA.  So the million dollar budget gets stretched much farther in MA. Which business CEO doesn't like to get a 25% bonus!? Hollywood East has permission for the road to progress! The Town of Plymouth board that approves roads gave a unanimous and positive approval for the Hollywood East road development. Patience, thoughtfulness, and a clear vision by the developers and the town board members have the project started off on the right path. Here in MA, small town governments are comprised of boards, selectmen, and commissions that create an environment for egos to battle, bruise, and bewilder. The new location of Hollywood East can be seen in this video.  It is part of the daily series that the studio is making available on-line.  The location is in Plymouth MA between exits 3 and 5 of Route 3 South.  (There is not a 4 on the south side - because this is MA.) Yes, if you haven't heard it before, there is a Hollywood East.  It is a new development on the East Coast and will have a large role in the future of making movies!  16 sound-stages and multiple production facilities that will make the completion of movies easier. The following home was well staged, in a great location, and absolutely beautiful. The problem (other than a down market): mediocre photos and no web site. This house was previously listed with another agent but when that agent's contract was up, the seller turned to my favorite clients to take the listing to the next level. And they always do! These agents are great because they market the heck out of their listings. They called me in to give the house brand spanking new photos and a professional web site. I should point out that the before photos that the old agent used were not horrible. Some were half-way decent. I just don't think half-way decent will help sell a $1.65 million dollar house.
