La Quinta and Indio, California, land of 360 days a year of sunshine has experienced much more rain than usual this year. La Quinta and Indio have had over 5 inches of rain when the average is around 3 inches a year. The Canadians who stop by our office do not mind at all. They are happy to be in 65+ temperatures and playing golf and relaxing. What we feel is bad weather in La Quinta and Indio is wonderful for the Canadians visiting. I was reading an article this morning in the local paper about charity scams and how fast they work.  A spokeperson for the Department of Consumer Affairs recently came to Indio, Ca and talked to seniors about the risk of fraud and scams. I was shocked to hear that at least 15  fake web sites were created hourrs after the Haiti earthquake.  These scam artists really work fast and im sure many people donated to the cause without every realizing they just gave money to a crook, not a victim of Haiti. Senior Citiziens are the most commonly taken advantage of and just in the last few years scams against seniors have risen over 30 percent.  With the technology and public information made available it is getting more and more difficult to determine who is good and who is bad. Indio has it's own beauty; Rural and roomy.  Indio is located directly East of La Quinta and West of Coachella.  It's got a ton of wonderful things to offer, although focusing on housing has made so many people only see the less desireable events unfolding in this city.  Land was cheap and plentiful (still is relatively speaking), and the developers came in droves.  Unfortunately, when the building stopped...the housing projects were abandoned, and commercial sites did not reach some of the more Easterly projects.  Those same developments are being sold for 50 to 60% drops from original prices..some even more.  But..as with all areas, there are spectacular things to offer in Indio and the equestrian estates and ranches and ranchettes are some of them.  Three polo clubs, Eldorado, Empire... 12/10/2009
