Meet Larry, Curly and Moe. They are three Moray eels found at the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla. Often referred to as mosters of the sea, these curious creatures are not actually the mosters they are thought to be. Their shape and habits do however give them some real advantages for survival.  A few facts about the Moray eels: While they have large eyes, they have poor vision and compensate with an acute sense of smell. Moray eels are rarely found swimming about in the daytime because they are nocturnal. They hide in crevices and snatch prey as it passes by. Moray eels are most often found in warmer tropical waters in coral reefs but can also occasionally be found in colder waters. Green Moray eels are actually blue but a yellow slimy coating used to help them slide through rough rocky or...

I don't know about how everyone else feels, but I am really looking forward to 2012 and cannot wait to get my year started! I went to the economic summit in SAN DIEGO, at USD and the panel predicted that our market's bottom in San Diego will be the forth quater of 2012 and first quarter of 2013. There usually is lag time in there and we certainly have adjusted to this "new normal" market. I think this will be my best year ever in real estate with the new office located in the heart of La Jolla village and with a company like Harcourts backing me, there will be no limit! Getting creative is the ticket and if you are a home buyer or home seller this is a great time to take advantage of this market where the playing field is starting to level out. Working with a Realtor with experience is ...

Start 2012 At The La Jolla Shores Polar Bear Swim! How to start the New Year?  Hmmmm here's a great idea, healthy, fun and free.  Put on your suit and goggles and take a dip in the Pacific Ocean.  Tomorrow, January 1, 2012 at 10AM the La Jolla Cove Swim Club will host their annual Polar Bear Swim at La Jolla Shores Beach.  Last year approximately 300 people participated.  Many just wade into the chilly water (should be about 58 degrees) but the Master's Swimmers actually swim a two mile course.  There will be lifeguards on duty and, at least one, on a jet ski.  A kayak support team will also be there.  After the refreshing swim, participants will enjoy Starbuck's and some terrific pot luck goodies.  I hear several people bring fantastic chili and other dishes to help warm the swimmers. ...
