I represented the Buyers on this gorgeous, Fairway home with spectacular Western Mountain Views at the very social golf club, The Hideaway.  The beautiful, custom entry gates are conveniently located right off of Jefferson St. in La Quinta.  80075 Via Passaro is approx. 5700 sf, but what really SOLD this home for my clients was the floor to ceiling disappearing doors between kitchen and the outdoor living space with it's AAA views!  The Hideaway is a luxury Golf Resort that is known throughout the Valley as being "one of the most social clubs in all of La Quinta!"  There are a variety of Golf Clubs in La Quinta, such as The Madison Club, Tradition, The Citrus, PGA West, Mountain View, Rancho La Quinta to name a few! This lovely couple is from Canada and because they have two young sons,...

Many people think they want to live on a golf course for the views. Here are some reasons not to live on a golf course: 1. You may have golf balls hit your home or worse yet, you! 2. It is noisy. You may hear words from golfers that hurt your ears. 3. Smoke from golfers can blow your way. 4. Your backyard is not as secure as a walled in yard. 5. You lose your privacy. 6. Most people don't sit and look at a view. 7. It costs alot more for a home on the golf course. 8. There are beautiful views everywhere you go in our area. 9. Other homeowners can see in your backyard too.

Speechless Sunday: Guess Who is Getting a Facelift in La Quinta! On a recent walk through the La Quinta Country Club neighborhood I saw the familiar signs that another local beauty is getting a much needed facelift!  The homes on the left side of the 8th hole at LQCC were all built in the late 1970's.  It is a prime location with some of the best views in the valley!  SEARCH FOR HOMES IN LA QUINTA

Casa Schowe:  There's No Place Like Home    Casa Schowe is located in the La Quinta Country Club neighborhood in La Quinta, California.  La Quinta is one of several cities in the Coachella Valley, often called the Palm Springs area.  Palm Springs is the oldest and most famous of the cities... a getaway place for celebrities and old Hollywood, just a few hours drive from Los Angeles.   La Quinta is quickly becoming a mecca for golf, tennis, hiking, dining, and sun-seeking. Those who want to spend their winters in a beautiful setting surrounded by the purple Santa Rosa mountains and enjoy cool desert nights and sunny warm days come here for "the season".    If you follow my blog, I'm sure you are aware of my love for the desert,  La Quinta, and Casa Schowe.  I try to entice friends, clien...

WHAT IS OVER-SEEDING?   OVER SEEDING is a process that ensures the beauty of the golf courses and neighborhoods in the Palm Springs area during the winter months when the temperatures are cool at night. The over seeding season is typically around mid-September and continues to around the end of October,  noting some landscapers start transitioning from summertime Bermuda grass to cool weather grass such as rye grass and bluegrass, earlier in the season. Because the summer Bermuda grass is sensitive to cool temperatures, it can go dormant in the winter months and turn brown.  With the emphasis on gorgeous green golf courses here in the desert, most courses insure that they will be perfect for visitors and residents by overseeding the golf courses with the winter grasses. The process begi...

Kathy Schowe's Laquinta CA is my dream destination.   A fairly new real estate agent blazing a trail across the desert in La Quinta, CA, Kathy Schowe is the one agent who’s blog posts make me want to drop everything, pack a bag, and hop a plane to Palm Springs Airport right now. I mean RIGHT now. I can already smell the desert sage. Ahhhhhh.   See, I know La Quinta, having resided there for eight glorious years before relocating to Georgia to be near my grandchildren. It’s a sun-and-sky-filled place, surrounded by purple mountain majesty, and close to heaven on earth, I think. Believe me, those children are the only treasure that could have pulled me from there to here. But I digress.   What I  mean to say is...I know La Quinta, so I know that Kathy Schowe knows La Quinta and the surrou...

I offer a free analysis of your financial situation to see if you should keep your house or short sale your home. 1. Is you total housing expense less than 40% of your income? This includes payment, taxes, insurance and maintenance. 2. How much is your home worth versus how much you owe? 3. How long will it take you to the value increased to more than you owe? 4. Are you better off to rent for awhile and then rebuy at a lower cost? 5. Is your home too big and too expensive for you long term? 6. Is your interest rate above 5%? 7. How long is your loan for ? 8. Is your interest rate adjustable? 9. Are you up to date on property taxes? 10. Do you have alot of deferred maintenance? Everyone needs to evaluate if hanging onto the home makes financial sense now and long term too.

I show alot of homes and take notes on what buyers love in homes. This changes often, but for now, these features seem to matter: 1. A Tradtional contemporary decorating - no more Spanish or Italian 2. Pavers versus cement 3. Lighter colors accented with brighter colors and tending towards more gray than gold 4. Crown molding still works 5. Wood floors are more popular in lighter colors 6. Lighter cabinets 7. Recycled materials used for cabinets, counters, floors 8. Pools, spa, and firepits are still popular 9. Spectacular views with lots of sun 10. Privacy with views really helps 11. Accomodations for pets 12. Large kitchen with commercial grade appliances and top quality

“The Gem of the Desert” is the City of La Quinta’s motto, and residents seem to agree.  Tucked into the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains in the Coachella Valley of Southern California, La Quinta receives an average of 350 days of sunshine a year. The permanent population is 38,475, and the winter brings even more “seasonal” residents. The average temperature is 75 degrees, and the average annual rainfall is less than 5 inches. La Quinta has 25 golf courses, 11 parks, several miles of hiking and biking trails, more than 70 gated communities, shopping, dining, entertainment and more!  La Quinta has long been a quiet hideaway for the famous and wealthy. There are 18 holes of golf at La Quinta’s first municipal golf course at the SilverRock Resort.  La Quinta is the host city of the an...

Many people have been waiting for 5 years or more to sell their home and move up to a larger home. Finally, the time is here. Interest rates are low. Most homes have increased in value enough for sellers to have adequate equity to do a move up buy and get a larger home without a huge increase in payment and monthly costs. Interest tax deductions are still in place . Don't miss your chance to  move up now to a larger and more compforatble home for you and your family.

Infinity Hair Design in La Quinta:  A Salon with Heart   I have been going to the Infinity Hair Design salon in La Quinta since 1997.  I was spending the holidays in the desert and was not able to make it home before Christmas and New Years... and I was in need of a color and cut.  I walked in and asked if anyone would have time to do my hair and Lori Conners at Infinity said YES.  They are located in the Vons shopping center at the corner of Hwy 111 and Washington.     You may not realize that our desert area is extremely busy in the winter months, and you must make appointments weeks out in order to get in to see sytlists. I had a few friends recommend their salons, and no one could take me until late January.  The girls at Infinity care.  They fit me in and I have been going there ev...

Many people feel that now is the time to flip houses and they may be correct. They want to buy a house fix it up and sell it within a few months for a profit. This is always risky but right now it seems more risky to me for these reasons and more: 1. The prices are increasing but not alot 2. Costs to buy and sell can quickly eat the profits 3. Higher interest rates lower the prices that buyers can qualify for 4. More new homes are becoming available which attract buyers more than flip homes 5. Many times the homes bought to flip have more issues than are know when they are purchased. 6. Lenders have many requirements and appraisals for flip homes 7. Your profit is also based on comparable nearby recent sales. If these home are not as nice, yours may not appraise as high as you need to f...
