Fall is quickly approaching and so many sellers are asking " How do I decorate my home for fall while I am selling it ? " This is a question posed by a lot of sellers because after all it's still YOUR home and you want to " live " in it, but you also understand the importance of keeping your home clutter free. Staging your home with fall decor can be valuable, but you also have to keep in mind that potential buyers may not share your enthusiasm for a season, holiday or decor. When decorating you want to ensure that your decor is not too distracting and that the decor is not the primary focus of the home. Instead, it is best to accentuate the space(s) that will add more charm to your home. A minimalist ( less is more ) approach is the best way to tackle fall decor. Since fall means pumpk...

It sometimes fascinates me to watch people literally lose their shorts when they realize they have little to no control over something. This instant gratification world we live in has taught us that we can order up just about anything, on demand. From coffee and movies to answers and recipes and most anything in between. But, then, lightening strikes and all bets are off. You realize quickly that you're simply not the boss. You have no power literally and figuratively.  If you live in areas prone to hurricanes and tornadoes you know how to prepare for a storm. You've been through them and know the essentials needed. You've been taught to supply yourself with at least 3-7 days worth of water, food and medication for your family. You know that you will need a battery operated radio, batte...

Life happens. While we wish that it wouldn’t things that we cannot control happen. What happens to us does not define us, how we react to these things does. Having to sell our home, the very house that you made memories beyond measure in, is one of the hardest things I have seen sellers go through. Whether a death, lay-offs, significant income changes, illness and/or disease, no matter the circumstance the very walls that surround the owner has a story to tell. From memorial plaques hanging on the wall, toothless adolescent children, graduation photos or even a piece of artwork when they once traveled the world all have a unique story that only the homeowner understands.  Hidden, in the corner of a room, you may find a growth chart from one or all of their children. In the back, down th...

The pine cones are beginning to hang in their glory around Lake Arrowhead. I love the smell of pine especially around Christmas. While Christmas in July is an unofficial holiday when I saw these how could it not bring me to Christmas ? In some hemispheres Christmas is celebrated in the summer and residents in those areas began throwing celebrations in July dubbing it as " Christmas in July ". This is also the peak of their winter season. Over the years I have seen some really cool crafts created with pine-cones. From wreaths to ornaments to ornamental trees, to DIY turkeys, natural bird feeders, reindeer and even some bleached pine-cones. Now, is a great time to start collecting mature pine-cones for all of your holiday crafts !

Lake Arrowhead, CA is an artificial lake located in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains on Little Bear Creek. Little Bear Creek is a tributary of Deep Creek and the Mojave River. The naturally barren, natural rock formation, shaped like a giant arrowhead is not manicured in any way. It is a natural formation untouched by man. The Arrowhead Lake Company in 1920 purchase Little Bear Lake and the surrounding land and named it Lake Arrowhead because of its natural arrowhead formation. 2010 consensus show a population of 12,424 people living on Lake Arrowhead, California. I love my job! Everyday I am able to make a buyers dream come true and help a seller write a new chapter in their book of life. There are so many rewards that life gives us if we look for the blessings and opportunities. When I sell a home it is not just another home sold. A home sold means I have built trust and a relationship with someone that I may have never gotten the opportunity otherwise. It means a thought was put into action and it become someones reality and I am here to say that there is no greater feeling.   If you are looking to turn your dream of home-ownership into a reality, please give me the opportunity to make that happen. I am with you long after the closing and here in Lake Arrowhead and you will be considered family.  If you are a seller looking to upgrade or downg...

I love the beauty that old Churches display. While old and sometimes tattered they still carry the same messages of hope, love and peace. Recently, I was shown this photo of a beautiful old Church surrounded by the brilliance of lavender. It reminded me of how lavender is referenced throughout the Bible only its bible bearing name is spikenard, which is actually Greek for lavender. Spikenard was used as one of the eleven herbs for the incense of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Many Christians today still create a cross out of lavender and hang it over their homes door for protection. This is a old fashioned method of home protection used for centuries. Lavender symbolizes purity, silence, grace, calmness and serenity. Even its purple color comes with significance - meaning royalty and spe...

The warmer weather here in Lake Arrowhead not only brings an abundance of sunshine and a lot of outdoor activities, but it also brings increased chances of encountering a rattlesnake. In 2016 two women in San Bernardino National Forest were attacked by a rattlesnake. In 2018 a man, while camping, was bitten by a rattlesnake. These are just two stories of rattlesnake bites, but each hold similar stories : They didn't see the snake or the bite coming. It happened that fast.Often times, and it has been reported, that as the temperatures rise, so do rattlesnakes and they lurk in places that you can't see. Whether you are clearing your yard and reaching into areas you cannot see like over-grown bushes, walking on leaves or logs or moving rocks- it doesn't matter if you are hiking, in your ow...

We hear the sad stories all the time...toddler drowns in pool. Don't think it can't happen to you because it happens to people you never thought it would. It happens to celebrities, helicopter moms and dads and even your loving and nurturing neighbor. You can never be too safe especially with toddlers who love water. Toddlers do not see nor do they understand the danger. They think of a bathtub at bath time and the fun sitting there brings them. They have no concept and cannot differentiate between shallow and deep water. They see something to splash in, something to have fun in and that is all they need to entice them.  Statistically, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death in children ages one to four years old. While we should of course always watch our children, especia...

Realtors, well, we see a lot when out showing and listing property. Some of the things we see can be extremely funny, some extremely scary. Living in the mountains where the wilderness is only a fingertip away and wildlife is plentiful, some of us can get up close and personal with visitors that we would sometimes like to stay on their side of the fence. While showing property the other day it looks like we had a " squatter " situation. This beady eyed raccoon surely grabbed our attention and tried to make it known he was top resident of the place.   Now, some people probably would have ran and fled rather quickly. There is a myth that any raccoon out in the daylight is rabid ( rabies ). But, that is not the case. While raccoons will exhibit a variety of unusual behaviors, their activit...
