Five Year Housing Chart for Lake Elsinore, California I've recently provided a copy of this report to our local officials for the City of Lake Elsinore. This information may prove helpful in determining city budget forecasts for the coming year as they evaluate the impact the downturn in our housing market has had on their revenue stream.  Of course property tax revenue is just one source of income for the city but a major one. As the state continues to wrestle with a budget that may or may not include some trade-off between property taxes and vehicle license fees, a city like Lake Elsinore that is in the midst of a housing resurgence needs to know where current property values are.  As you look at the attached chart and graphs, you will notice that the number of sales has declined ste...

Southwest Riverside Country is so full of hidden treasures. Take a stroll down Main Street and you'll discover some of the best restaurants and shops in the county. Rusticana, Raviolis!, Flour Fusion, and Guadalajara can all be found on the same side of the street in the same block. Laura and I stopped in at Flour Fusion for lunch and it was exceptional. We both had half a sandwich and a cup of soup. I had the egg salad and she had the veggie sandwich. Everything was fresh and delicious. We topped it off with an oatmeal raisin cookie. Yummmm! There's a feel good story here, too. The Press Enterprise recently ran an article about how the owners had to choose between keeping their home or their business. They decided to put their faith in the business and have now landed a contract to ...

I recently taught a blogging class in Orange County and then needed to make a trip through the mountains to Temecula for a meeting. I decided the take the Ortega Highway from San Juan Capistrano, a distance of about 30 miles. For folks who have not traveled through this area, you are in for a visual treat. The Ortega Highway has an interesting history worth reading about, either before or after taking a journey through the Santa Ana Mountains (through the Cleveland National Forest) in either direction from Lake Elsinore (both a lake and a town) to the sea in San Juan Capistrano (site of one of the many California missions). The winding two-lane road, which was constructed beginning in 1929 and took 4 years to complete, offers dramatic vistas of the mountains and the valleys after leavin...

I have a confession to make. I love fireworks! I always have. When Laura asked me if we could get married on the 4th of July next year I immediately agreed. We'll have an evening ceremony and watch the Canyon Lake fireworks display. This year we went to a pool party/barbeque and then went to Laura's house to watch Lake Elsinore's fireworks display. Allow me to share some of my photos with you.     Murrieta Real Estate Expert – Tom Plant, REALTOR® - Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage – Active Rain Ambassador (951) 907-9701 It would be my honor to show you the incredible Temecula Valley, a place I’m very proud to call home.    Subscribe in a reader

Do you live an active lifestyle? Are you into extreme sports? Then Lake Elsinore, California is the place to live and play! Lake Elsinore has been famously known since the Roaring Twenties when Actors and Actresses slipped away from Hollywood Scenes to bask in the SoCal Sun and wet their feet along the lake shore. How about the 70's when Steve McQueen rode in the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix and filmed "On Any Sunday". Lake Elsinore is now the Southern California Skydiving, Motocross, wakeboard-water skiing, CA Minor League Baseball, Dream Extreme! place to be!!!If you want to live and play extreme in your own community without the driving here to there, then look at Lake Elsinore to live. Residential Financing is Changing in Lake Elsinore I am sure you had already guessed that based on the news reports every single DAY! Let me tell you just a couple of the ways things are changing and how you can stay above the crowd.First, be realistic. I don't want to come across condescending, but many consumers still have the rose colored glasses of 2003-2004 on. Here in Lake Elsinore California, real estate values have plummeted. Your home is worth anywhere from 40k to 300k less than it was 4 years ago. The market has changed drastically and your home needs to be a better deal than the 4 foreclosures in your neighborhood if you want to sell. Who can you blame for the mess? The irresponsible people that bought homes they could not afford. The dentist turned "Investor" that speculate...
