The theme of the parade “70th Year a Platinum Celebration."  What Does 2017 Hold For the Housing Market?   2016 is almost in the books, and as far as the housing market is concerned, 2016 was a pretty good year. In spite of low inventory throughout 2016, interest rates for much of 2016 stayed at record lows. The housing market price growth in 2016 trucked along as growth in the top end of the market is somewhere around 4% while the lower end of the market rose about 8%, and the median home growth should end up around 5%. Maybe the biggest problem in the 2016 housing market fell on developers falling short of building enough homes to keep up with the demand nor did they build enough lower priced starter homes to keep up with the demand.  The Belmont Shore Christmas Parade “A Candy Land Christmas.”   This year’s Belmont Shore Christmas Parade doesn’t get much sweeter than this year’s theme  “A Candy Land Christmas.” Organizer Dede Rossi promises this Saturday night onlookers can expect to see plenty of red-and-white-stripped confectionery during the parade this year. According to Dede Rossi, the executive director of the Belmont Shore Business Association, spectators will enjoy more than 100 colorful parade entries.
