Why should Silicon Valley Sellers Provide Chimney Inspection Reports? Sellers from Los Gatos to Mountain View, Calif. ask me this in every real estate consultation appointment. Paying for inspections is something the buyer should do, not the seller… right? Of course a buyer may pay for a second chimney inspection. However, in today's market, providing a chimney inspection can head off expensive negotiations before they start.  A broken chimney is very expensive - and more common than sellers think.
