Wordless Wednesdays: Look what arrived via Amazon...  well, if you guessed a cookbook, you are right.Well, let me give a little background. Just like Active Rain there is a community where we develop relationships, friendships and it goes beyond that... There is a reader platform called "Good Reads" Diane is a regular like I am on Active Rain. She is in a couple groups and developed some great friendships. Anyway, you get the idea. One of her friends with her daughter was stopping in the Los Angeles area just to meet Diane. Unfortunately, we have some personal issues that are going on, so Diane went out with them, after they stopped at our home. Yes, they went to Redondo Beach to one of our favorite restaurants. the "Blue Water Grill".After lunch they stopped in at one of our favorite bo...

Monday Motivations: again, wisdom from Marcus Aurelius.... ....The salvation of life lies in seeing each object in its essence and its entirety, discerning both the material and the casual: in applying one's whole soul to doing right and speaking the truth. There remains only the enjoyment of living a linked succession of good deeds, with not the slightest gap between them..."I find this quote so powerful, and it truly resonates with me. Well, let me leave you with one more quote that is powerful and equally resonates with me. "...The light of a lamp shines on and does not lose its radiance until it is extinguished. Will then the truth, justice, and self-control which fuel you fail before your own end?..."Now feel free to leave comments and your thoughts to this post.  Wishing you a saf...

Happy Autumn, happy Fall to my clients and friends...Imagine that the first week of October is behind us and in less than a week we will be midway through the month. You've likely read the media’s blasting about the Fed Chairman's interest rate reduction. These headlines, while not necessarily accurate, have bought many of the fence sitting savvy buyers into purchase mode.  Hence, I've noticed an increase in inventory. I have added three additional listings to my real estate inventory and am currently in escrow on two properties.  As I've said before about today's market, my advice is don't wait it out, the serious buyers are out there now.  If you have questions, please reach out to me to get unfiltered straight answers. I've noticed this year that more homes have gotten into the Hallo...

Happy Anniversary to Diane!!Well last year Diane & I spent October 4th at The Roof Garden in the Peninsula Hotel. We were having a Linner, late lunch early dinner, after all it was her 29th Anniversary. Well Cheers to another year, this year she was celebrating her 30th Anniversary, what to do? How can we out do that?Seriously not going into details she is having a surgery coming up in the near future and we opted not to focus on her 30th Anniversary. Instead, we took care of important matters such as her glasses and my glasses.... anyway, you get the idea.Hence, I decided to make a Sushi & Sashimi Dinner with Champaign. Easy clean up and not too much work to make it. She loved it and we even had some leftovers.Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If ...

Before drones walking on the roof was the only way to get a good roof inspection done. This video of a clay tile roof inspection I recently performed using a drone. The home is a approximately 4700 sq ft 5 bedroom, 5 baths home.

Tuna Noodle Casserole with Spinach & Artichokes... well it was Friday, and I wanted to do a twist on an old recipe our parents used to make. The ingredients were, fresh baby spinach, frozen Artichoke Hearts, garlic, and of course egg noodles.Oh, and let me not forget three cans of tuna, some butter, some olive oil and some milk and a bit of flour. If you are interested, I can do a full-blown recipe.  The key once everything was done to bake it in the oven for about 25 minutes at about 425 degrees and that will bring the meal up to the next level. Especially if you add some panko bread crumps on top with some shredded parmesan cheese.  Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Target America: Terrorism in the US.  A book review... I am a bit late reviewing this book. It was published in 1993 and ironically it was sadly after 9/11. The introduction is by Bill McCollum, please Google his history, clearly an interesting career. Let me quote one sentence:This is why I believe it is vital that all Americans read Mr.  Bodansky's book... and become familiar with the nature of the terrorist threat and who is behind it..... it is only by publicly exposing this threat to America and through educating our citizens that we can stop the terrorists from carrying out the nefarious plans and protect our freedoms....Interestingly enough I only paid One Dollar for this book, a true bargain, but it took a great deal of effort to read it, because I kept putting it down and watch...

He has no desire ever to go out:))Holly is eating and Wiley is checking it out. Wiley is wondering is her food better than ours? Why is the gate locked? Clearly so Holly could eat in peace:)))Check this photo out, usually it is not Wiley and Jill butt to butt, instead it is usually Wiley and Holly. Tonight's Dinner was inspired by one of my cookbooks. The one I referenced the other day The Flavors of Asia, by Mai Pham.  Endorsed by the Culinary Institute of America aka the CIA.Needless to say, I looked at about ten recipes and decided to do my own version. First and foremost, I made Sushi Rice. Plan on 30 minutes to make it. While I was making the rice, I decide to do some creative ideas, well smoked mussels from the can, then I realized how powerful the smell and the flavors were, I immediately opened another can of Patagonian mussels, much milder. Realizing that this would not be enough I added some frozen vegies to cut the strength. I also felt I needed to add some Argentinian red shrimp. Then I added some mushrooms to it (fresh) as well as some sun-dried tomatoes and then added...

Wordless Wednesdays: Holly is getting a groom... over the years we have taken Holly to the groomer... things changed. Then we took her to another groomer... then sadly there were some dog diseases circling around so we opted to have the groomer come to our home.Well, we tried the bathroom, not very successful for a shy little dog. Then we tried the bathroom sink equally a failure. Now we finally got the problem resolved, she is fine in the kitchen sink. She also needs ear protection hence the shower cap.All good, just a small trade off, we need to clean the sink before and after each grooming session. Oh well not complaining just sharing life of a Pet Friendly Realtor's dog:))). Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If you are looking for a knowledgeabl...

Los Angeles land buyers need to know about the entitlement process... depending on where they decide to buy a land and build their home, the rules can vary a great deal. Most importantly they need to know that if they buy a land within 1.5 miles of the Pacific Coast the approval process falls into Coastal Commission Jurisdiction. Hence that means it could take two to three years for the approval process. I have known buyers that would like to shorten this process hence they opt to buy land outside of the Coastal Commission Jurisdiction. My point is that the entitlement process can be long and quite complicated, but without that no one cannot build a home in the Greater Los Angeles area. Now should they choose to buy a steep up or down sloped lot then that will fall into Los Angeles Hillsid...
