Santa Claus showed up in Manhattan Village If you happened to be shopping in Manhattan Village, the Mall in Manhattan Beach, you probably noticed that Santa Claus took time off from his busy schedule and has been hanging out for the past few days at the Mall. Those who noticed this decided to have their pictures taken with him. So if you want your picture or your children’s picture taken with Father Christmas make sure you drop in the Mall. BTW parking is free unless you start shopping, then it could get expensiveJ). If you are considering buying or selling a home, a luxury home, luxury investment real estate, luxury vacation homes, or luxury beach properties in Southern California, Los Angeles, Century City, Westwood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Marina Del Rey, Venice or Malibu, fe...

Poinsettias: have pet Toxins according to Veterinarians & the ASPCA Most of us think of Poinsettias as the Christmas Flower. To many nothing says Christmas better than a Poinsettia. If you are a pet owner this beautiful flower should not be in your household. According to the ASPCA and most knowledgeable Veterinarians this Plant is very toxic to your pets. So for many years I have enjoyed poinsettias from a far, or in the Malls during the Holidays. On a side note did you know that this Plant has been around since the Aztecs? The Aztec Kings loved them since it is able to bloom even in higher altitudes. Just does not like the cold. So with that said enjoy this picture which I took in Manhattan Beach at the Manhattan Village Mall. If you are considering buying or selling a home, a luxury...

Ever wonder how Rosecrans Avenue in Manhattan Beach got its name?  It was named after General William Starke Rosecrans, or “Old Rosy” as he was known to his men. He was born in Kingston Township, Ohio, on Sept. 6, 1819. The original family name was “Rosenkranz,” which means crown or wreath of roses. He attended West Point, and upon his graduation joined the Army Corps of Engineers. He resigned his commission in 1854 after reaching the rank of first lieutenant in order to spend more time with his family. With the outbreak of the Civil War, Rosecrans re-enlisted in the Army and became a brigadier general. He was considered one of the Union’s brightest leaders until his forces were defeated at Chickamauga in Sept. 1863. After that battle, Secretary of War Edwin Stanton and Gen. Ulysses Gr...

While much of the South Bay and Manhattan Beach real estate markets suffer from low inventory and high demand, making it difficult for many buyers to find the right home, Manhattan Village has seen an abundance of listings in the past month.  There are currently 4 homes on the market, 2 of which are court homes and two are town homes.  In addition a plan 5 estate home is soon due to come on the market as well.  In addition there are currently 3 court homes in escrow as well as 2 estate homes, which are actually single family homes located in a different area of Manhattan Village.  Manhattan Village is a gated community in the coastal community of Manhattan Beach and home prices generally range from the low $700,000s to over $2.0M for certain estate homes. The chart below shows the recen...
