What did you do for New Year's Eve? This question often comes up in conversations. Well we went to Fishing with Dynamite New Year's Eve afternoon.As most of you who know me, we are not big fans of going out New Year’s Eve. We prefer going out for a late lunch early afternoon dinner. This way we always avoid the crazy partiers, the mediocre service and the overpriced mediocre evening activities.This year Diane wanted to go back to one of our new favorite Restaurants, that being Fishing with Dynamite in Manhattan Beach. The food is exquisite and the Chef is a James Beard Award winning chef. Our market indicators point to a minute cooling off of luxury home sales in Manhattan Beach as we reach the halfway point of 2015.  There's a slight increase in inventory and a dip in number of sales recorded on the local MLS.  Although the market is still firmly planted in seller territory when it comes to who the market favors, there are still several positive indicators for buyers especially if they are obtaining financing for their luxury home purchase.  Interest rates are still very good and as homes accumulate a growing number of days on market the playing field shared by buyer and sellers becomes more level.The tally for June 2015 sales of luxury homes priced over $3,000,000 in Manhattan Beach stands at 10 with 61 days on the market being the average.  There are currently 13 luxu...

By Keith Kyle One of the questions I'm frequently asked by home buyers is "if the market favors sellers so much, why aren't more people selling their homes?" That's a great question and unfortunately I just don't have a great answer. The theory (and hope if you represent buyers) in our area over the past 2 years is that if values go up high enough sellers will be compelled to list their houses. The problem is we are there....and they're still not putting their homes on the market.  We have exceeded peak prices in our higher end markets such as Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, yet home inventory is almost non-existant. I realize I'm going to sound like a realtor here, but home sellers.......NOW IS AN IDEAL TIME TO SELL!!!

Poinsettias: have pet Toxins according to Veterinarians & the ASPCA Most of us think of Poinsettias as the Christmas Flower. To many nothing says Christmas better than a Poinsettia. If you are a pet owner this beautiful flower should not be in your household. According to the ASPCA and most knowledgeable Veterinarians this Plant is very toxic to your pets. So for many years I have enjoyed poinsettias from a far, or in the Malls during the Holidays. On a side note did you know that this Plant has been around since the Aztecs?
