12 Tips for September's REALTOR® Safety Month Real estate professionals interface with the general public on a daily basis and can always presents risks. Since September is REALTOR® safety month, here are a few tips to help keep you safer.1. Meet Prospective Clients in Your Office: Predators tend to avoid the spotlight so meeting prospective clients your office for the first time is a safer as  you never know who is on the other side of the phone. When they come into your office, make a copy of their driver's licenses to place on file. If you do meet them alone in a house, make sure your colleagues know where you are and whom you're with.2. Trust Your Intuition: Do you ever get a creepy feeling from a stranger? Your body is hardwired to pick up on signals that somebody is just a little ...

Memories from my weekend open house   Avocado tree found in the backyard of the open house   Beautiful blooming flower in the front of the house   Colorful flower arrangement in the front patio to increase curb appeal   Playing with angle shots to best show off the new granite counters   Stainless Steel sink  - a desired upgrade for every kitchen   Why did I take these photos? Photos taken from this weekend's open house besides the typical front image for the buyers. These are photos for me, for my collection, for my memories . Avocado trees are my favorite. I have killed over 5 avocado trees in the last 5 years. Can you guess that I don't exactly have a green thumb? So, everytime I see a house with avocado trees, it makes me want to buy the house just because of the tree.   The photo...

Giving Back to My Community in the Inland Empire  I grew up seeing that volunteering was important and my mother always seemed to belong to some many organizations who were helping others; American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, Riverside Women's Club, Elk's Club, the church and the list went on and on.....   So when I moved to San Bernardino County I saw that many needed assistance here. I have tried to help financially wherever I could and to volunteer my time as much as possible.   Christmas Events- Every year I buy several Boy and Girl Toys and wrap them up and take them to the ABC Toy Giveaway that Garth Kemp does at Mathis Brothers in Ontario. It is so important to make sure every child have a few toys under the tree on Christmas morning. I like they way they do it as the toys co...

Motivational Mondays- The Love of My Dog to Get Me on Track This morning I got up about 6:00 am and made a cup of coffee. I was on the patio looking at the hummingbirds buzzing around the feeder and my mind was wondering instead of listening to the news blasting away near my ear. I thought since my pending short sale is closing this morning I do not need to be worrying about any messages from the bank. My new short sale has been submitted so I won't hear from them for a week. I need to go buy a dress for a wedding I am in soon so I will run out to the mall in Rancho Cucamonga. I have a coupon for DSW so I think I will run out and get a new pair of shoes this morning. I need to go get my nails done so today would be a good day. I need a new plant in one of the pot on my patio as it is dy...

Do You Have Squeaks in Your House......One Simple Quick Fix WD-40   Do you have a door or a cabinet that squeaks all the time or a chair that is driving you nuts.     When I have a squeak in one of my listings, I always zap it right away but when it is your own house, you say I will do it later.      This morning we went through the house and squirted WD-40 on all the squeaks. But then we pulled out one of the office chairs. We spent an hour or more and took off all the hardware and then put it back on tighter and sprayed WD40.    Sometimes those squeaks are like scratching your fingernails over a chalk board. But we tend to take care of our other homes first so my suggestion is to grab a can of WD-40 and go through your house and fix the squeaks.   There are hundreds of other uses with...

Try Portillo’s Hot Dogs in Moreno Valley if You Like Hot Dogs Today I had to go get the keys from a house that just closed so it was too late to go home and cook. Just down the street from Costco in Moreno Valley is a fairly new restaurant called Portillo's Hot Dogs. My husband knows I love Chili Dogs so suggested we stop in and I was so glad we did. Oh my, the place is decorated like the 30-40's and and has gangster and G-Men Photos, cars from the 30's and great background music from the same era. Just decorated so cute and what was even better was that the food was delicious. I meant to take a picture but devoured it without thinking.    Here are a few pictures I took.   It is a chain from Illinois and has several other names; Luigi's, Barnella's, Retail Properties,  and Honey Jam Ca...

N.A.R. Call To Action Regarding Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2014   N.A.R. is asking for all the REALTORS® help extend the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program created following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. When private insurers withdrew from the terrorism insurance market, construction projects group to a halt and commercial property values dropped. The Commercial Real Estate market simply can't afford the uncertainty an expiration of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program would create. Fortunately there is bipartisan legislation, unanimously approved by the Senate Banking Committee,  that takes a balanced approach to renewing the program created by the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act of 2002 (TRIA) pending the United States Senate.  S.2244 the "Terrorism Risk Insurance Program ...

New Speed Rail Transit Opens in San Francisco in 2017   The new Transbay Terminal in San Francisco is going to blow your mind when it opens in 2017. It will house a total of 11 transit systems and connect eight Bay Area counties and the entire state of California. LEED Gold Certification is expected and it is prepped for handling the high-speed rail train project that speeds into town.  There is a lot of controversy over this project but the state does not have a great metro system so in the next ten years, the entire state of California is planning a rail transit that will run the entire length of the state.    California is a dream come true state no matter what your needs or wants are. We have year round warm weather, beautiful beaches, rustic mountains and desert communities. If you...

Interesting Mural in Downtown Sacramento Amazing Mural on  Masonic Temple Wall in Downtown Sacramento   While riding in the car on the way to the Grand Sheraton Hotel Monday, I saw this amazing mural in downtown area. It was on the back wall of Tony's Deli and the Masonic Temple near the convention center.  It was so amazing as it shows a masterpiece and then people climbing out of the picture on the ladder. How clever I thought so the driver stopped so I could get a quick picture. Sacramento is a lovely city and the state capital of California. I went there for the Women's Council of Realtors® and then for Legislative Day on April 30, 2014. I highly recomend everyone to visit the city. Thanks for Reading my Blog

Moreno Valley CA Short Sale Moreno Valley, California real estate has seen some drastic swings in prices, conditions and inventory. First, when the Moreno Valley housing crashed in 2007, no one could sell a house. Anyone trying to only chased Moreno Valley home buyers with dropping prices. Then came all the Moreno Valley CA foreclosures. This attracted many cash buyers and investors. As banks realized that flooding the Moreno Valley real estate market with foreclosures drove prices down even further, they began holding on to their Moreno Valley foreclosed homes. This brought a new wave to the Moreno Valley real estate market: Moreno Valley CA Short Sales! The Moreno Valley CA Short Sale Yes, Moreno Valley California has seen the rise and fall of the short sale, and this type of transact...

Sensei Came Through for Grasshopper with Google+ Problem I posted several weeks ago that I was having problems posting my ActiveRain blog on Google+. Of course, I was baffled when I started getting blocked and then the Trulia merger came about and I thought this was the issue. But sadly after adding the word 'trulia" into my email links, it was still blocked and not working. ActiveRain Ambassador Jerry Newman sent me an email and said he could help. We emailed back and forth a few times and this week we talked for about an hour. Jerry had me go through all the links on ActiveRain and Google+. We both realized part of the problem was that I have 2 Google+ accounts and my gmail seems to default to the other one. So after diagnosing the problems, Jerry and I both decided that I better shut...

Fountains are a Great Way to Decorate and Relax in Your Garden                             I enjoy spotting fountains when I am out showing property, driving to new places and even at the home improvement stores. Ialways have a camera or my phone so I like to get out and take a picture. I have always had a fountain at all of the houses I have owned. It is so much fun to watch the birds take baths in the mornings and relaxing to sit and enjoy in the evenings. I am particularly fond of lion fountains.                                               This is my newest fountain. Baby Gorilla Born By C-Section at San Diego Zoo in Intensive Care Unit  Photo by San Diego Zoo     Last week, a San Diego's Zoo 18 year old Gorilla, Imani, was in labor with her first baby but was having complications. The San Diego Zoo Global Team determined that the fetus was at risk so they decided to perform a C-Section on the gorilla. The team of doctors included the Global Team, and a local veterinarian surgeon and a neonatal specialist from UC San Diego Medical Center.   The 4.6 female gorilla was healthy but then started having respitory difficulties. An x-ray determined she had a collasped lung and surgery was performed immediatley. The baby gorilla is resting comfortably and is being given oxygen and fluids. She is currently at the San Diego Zoo Safairi Park Intensive Care Uni...
