Corona Del Mar plans to change sidewalk cafes   There is a Notice for a Public meeting Tuesday, February 29th at 7pm at the Newport Beach City Council Chambers at 3300 Newport Blvd for a conceptual plan for narrowing Pacific Coast Highway in Corona Del Mar and adding more sidewalk to increase sidewalk café business. The street improvement goes from Avocado to Dahlia. They are addressing it as a gain of additional landscaping and pedestrian space. They are saying it will not have any environmental change but I am not so sure. The area they are reducing is already congested from the traffic in Newport Beach four lanes each way down to two and now they want to take away the transition lane which might cause more backup at MacArthur and PCH.
