Boasting as the origin of some of the most fantastic history of Palm Springs, is the famed and renowned Racquet Club of Palm Springs.  As a historic part of this scenic town, visiting the Racquet Club is a definite must for those of you that share a love of the past, and a desire to see into the private lives of some of the most famous actors of all time. Set in the lonely desert, surrounded by the awe inspiring mountains lies the Racquet Club, founded by actors as a safe haven for themselves and others of their kind, to get a rare break away from the limelight even if only for a short while.  The outside world received rare glimpses of the happenings and visitors inside through newspaper clippings, and stories passed through the old grapevine, but as for being allowed entry into this w...

Legal and Regulatory Issues     Lease Land vs. Fee LandThe City of Palm Springs has two types of land-Lease Land and Fee Land. That's because some of the city is on land deeded to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. In real estate, a "section" refers to a 1-mile square of land. These 1-mile squares of land form a grid pattern all over the country. Sections are numbered starting with 1 and going up to the number of sections that are in a particular area. In Palm Springs, every even-numbered section is Lease Land and every odd-numbered section is Fee Land. Stacy wants you to be aware of this factor if you are considering buying a home in the City of Palm Springs.Fee LandThe term "Fee" is of Old English origin. In modern use, it establishes the title of real property in the owner. ...

Day Spas are very popular in Palm Springs, in fact, the yellow pages dedicate several pages to them, of course, some are World Class and frequented by the rich and famous. The Original Palm Springs Spa Resort and Casino is where allot of people enjoy the "taking of the waters" experience. You can go just for the day if you would like, and treat yourself to a massage, a facial or a "day of beauty package" . The My good friend goes to Body Sense Day Spa and she really likes it, of course her mother more enjoys; The Face place on La Paz Street in Palm Springs.  The Spa at the Viceroy hotel is one of my favorites in Palm Springs. In Desert Hot Springs the Two Bunch Palms Spa is a celebrity escape in a beautiful and natural setting that offers natural spring waters. A nice spa experience ca...

Here's a peek at some of the Modern Architecture that is everywhere here in Palm Springs. Palm Springs had an abundance of world famous architects who worked in the 50's such as Albert Frey, Donald Wexler, Richard Neutra, as well as others. There are many home owners who have done extensive restoration projects all over the city to return these homes to their original condition. I found this video on YouTube, please enjoy it! Bravo TV's Bryan Thompson take you off the beaten path in the desert around Palm Springs to show some great Modern architecture new and old.

I live in Provincetown on Cape Cod.  However, I have a second home in Palm Springs, CA which I several times a year.  During my visit to Palm Springs, I always go to El Mirasol Mexican restaurant for dinner - It is probably the best Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs!!  I really enjoy the cheese Queso for starters, which is melted Mexican cheese placed between flour tortillas (I am a cheese lover!).  My favorite dinner plate is the chicken burrito- stuffed with lots of chicken and large enough to bring left-overs home for a midnight snack!!It locally owned and operated and is certainly a local favorite! The restaurant itself is very relaxing and decorated southwest style.  I have been going there for 3 years now, and I am pleased to see that the majority of the wait-staff if the original...

Imagine the noise, the crowd is going wild, the smell of fresh cooked hot dogs, roasted peanuts, and popcorn is everywhere!  Where are you?  Palm Springs Stadium is where you should be, completely losing yourself in the joy of one of America's favorite past times -- baseball. Palm Springs Power Baseball has formed teams annually, with returning players helping to earn the love of fans all over.  They play baseball and collect toys among many other things.  Most recently was their "Christmas in July" game that requested the help of fans to gather loads of toys to be sent to Toys for Tots for Christmas.  With the help of their mascot, Rocky the Ram, and all the "power fans", dozens of toys were gathered to give. The Palm Springs Power compete in the Southern California Collegiate Baseball...

Happy New Year to one and all!!!  I just got back a couple of days ago from my vacation to Buenos Aires, so I have not been up to date on my blogging activities.  I had the best of intentions to do some blogging but hey, I'm was on vacation!!!The month of December in Palm Springs was filled with lots of merriment and holiday cheer.  There were so many more parties this year, that I had to turn down a few of them.  Sorry Guys!!  Besides leaving for my vacation on the 15th of December, the highlight of the holiday season for me was the Festival of Lights Parade.  It was so much fun seeing all of the lights on the floats, drinking hot apple cider, and seeing the joy of the holidays on everyone's face.  It was a magical moment.   The month of December was also a busy time for the Palm Spri...

I live in Provincetown on Cape Cod.  However, I have a second home in Palm Springs, CA which I several times a year.  During my visit to Palm Springs, I always go to Manhattan in the Desert - It is probably the best authentic New York style deli around!!  The sandwiches must be aboutleast 5 inches thick with your choice of fresh meat!  Usually the sandwich is so big, that I leave fully satisfied while taking half of my sandwich home! Not only do they have great sandwiches, the have a breakfast menu and serve dinner as well!  Oh, if you have a sweet tooth and enjoy carrot cake......the carrot cake is a MUST!The restaurant itself is very open, light and bright!  I have been going there for 3 years now, and I am pleased to see that the majority of the wait-staff if the original staff from w...

The Modernism of Palm Springs' Renowned Architect, Albert Frey Palm Spring's own Albert Frey (1903-1998), an internationally-renowned architect, left his signature throughout the desert during his career. Many of his projects, whether they were schools, public buildings, commercial sites or ranch style combined his ideas of modernism and commercialism. As he often stated, he could not have practiced his lifetime devotion to his profession without keeping his business's door open. He lived in Palm Springs from 1934 to his death, from a time when there were 1500 residents in the bustling city it is today. He became involved in the city through a partner. When he arrived, he fell in love with the area, especially the Santa Rosa Mountains. He never left Palm Springs. He married a local bel...

So many people visit Palm Springs each year that it is hard to go anywhere in the world without people knowing about the city. Most of the people that come to Palm Springs to live or buy a second home or vacation home are merely tourists who visited and fell in love with it here. Who wouldn't fall in love with Palm Springs, as there is so many activities here, but you probably already know that. What you may not know is that the Palm Springs Air Museum, next door to the Palm Spring's Corporate Jet Center and across the runway from the main completely remodeled air terminal is a flying museum. Nearly all the antique and WWII vintage aircraft fly. These aircraft fly often and there are frequent events going on all the time. The Air Museum also hosts traveling exhibits like the Leonardo Da...
