Paso Robles is another city in North San Luis Obispo County that seems to be enjoying an increase in sales of single-family homes.  Since 2008, the number of home sold has risen by 8% to 550 sales and by another 6% to 585 homes in 2009.  It is also encouraging to find that the number of days needed to market a home fell from the high of 100 days in 2007 to 56 days in 2009.   Conversely, sale prices are still declining, like the rest of the County.  Like Atascadero, there is a cummulative loss of 40% in median sale price between 2007-2009. This new program will complement Treasury's Hardest Hit Fund by providing assistance to homeowners in hard hit local areas that may not be included in the hardest hit target states.  Those areas are still being determined. After much talk over the last year of Bed, Bath & Beyond pulling out of the Golden Hills Plaza project, it is clear now that this much anticipated retailer plans to open by May.  I say it is clear based on the fact that there are "Now Hiring" signs on the 25,000 sq ft building they plan to inhabit next to Lowe's Home Improvement store off of Highway 46 east. El Pollo Loco, Sky Nails & Spa, Me-n-Ed's Pizza and Circuit City are tenants that were slated to occupy the Golden Hills Plaza but have since cancelled; Circuit City because it claimed bankruptcy and closed nationwide.
