     The Big Day of Giving is a one day charity event created by the Sacramento Community Foundation to benefit our local non-profit organizations.  Since 2013, nearly $40 million has been raised in six giving days to help over 600 organizations.  Today is an important day for our Sacramento area.  There are over 600 local charities to choose from.  Donation amounts start at $15.                   This year my donation went to my favorite local non-profit, Runnin for Rhett.  Our goal this year is to provide 1,000 pairs of running shoes to those that need them in our Youth Training Program.  As a frequent volunteer, donor and coach, I can tell you that the kids get so excited when they receive a free pair of running shoes.  Each $35 donation buys a high quality pair of running shoes. A few weeks ago, I would never have imagined that I would be discussing mortgage relief.  Everybody seems to be affected by the COVID 19 virus is some way or another.  Many are sick, laid off or have reduced hours and are facing some difficult decisions. I am concerned because during the Great Recession so many did not communicate with their banks and/or loan servicing companies due to fear and worry.   If you are having difficulties, please call your loan servicing company or your bank.  My client called his servicer and was told that he qualified for a forbearance agreement.  He can forgo his payment for up to three months on his home loan without any penalties.  He was also told that it will not affect his credit score.  His interest will still accrue ...

    Ocean Fish and Chips is our favorite Elk Grove place to go for fish and chips.  There are not that many places in Elk Grove that serve fish and chips, but this restaurant stacks up well against restaurants even outside the area, including a Las Vegas restaurant that I recently visited, Gordon Ramsay's Pub and Grill.     I tried their fish and chips with mushy peas.  The mushy peas were extremely good, but the very mushy fish was not.  Gordon Ramsay must be very proud of the dish served at $30.99.  Quite frankly, everyone seems pretty proud in Las Vegas.  Everything is expensive!  If you are ever in Las Vegas, it is worth going by to see Ramsay's restaurant.  The decor is pretty cool utilizing over 50 beer kegs as decorations and they do have a great selection of beer. Ocean Fish and...

   Capitol Beer FestCapitol Beer Fest will be held on the Capitol Mall in Sacramento, March 7th from 12 to 4 pm. VIP entry will be at 12 and general admission starts at 1 pm.  It is a very fun day with over 125 different kinds of beer (and hard cider) available.  It is a very tasty and varied list.
