I have supplied a link to a great video that explains the current U.S. home mortgage market.  It shows how the banks profit from them and how the borrower doesn't. This is a short video but well worth the time.   http://libertycrier.com/finance/banking-fraud-housing-boom-is-back/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Teaparty07+%28TeaParty07%29   Makes you wonder what's going to happen if the rates go up or if the Feds get out of the market?

You have to love it!  15 year mortgage rates at 2.6% with 0.7 points.  I am passing the word to all my clients that this looks like a great option for financing.  All we need is higher inflation for this one to be a "no brainer".  This was from the Orange County Register and 2 of their best real estate writers.    By Jonathan Lansner and Jeff Colins What’s happening with mortgage rates? We’ve asked Jeff Lazerson, of Mortgage Grader in Laguna Niguel, to give us his weekly take. So, Jeff … RATE NEWS: From Freddie Mac’s weekly survey the average 15-year fixed rate hit an all-time low of 2.66 percent and 0.6 point. This is down from last week’s 2.70 percent. The 30-year fixed rate dropped down to 3.37 percent and 0.7 point from last week’s 3.39 percent. This is just 1 basis point away from ...

When I was listening to CNBC today, a mortgage rate analyst was on talking about how the interest rates were going up next year.  He talked about fees going up on federal backed loans and inflation in the pipe line.  I didn't catch his name but he made some great points.  So I have been telling all my buyers sitting on the fence to move now! Visit my web site for your San Luis Obispo County home search needs www.myslohomefinder.com Here is Bob Franklin's mortgage update- The Day Ahead: Housing Starts The housing sector is showing somewhat stronger-than-expected health with both starts and permits gaining in the latest report. The September Housing Starts pace of 0.872 million units topped market expectations of 0.765 million and was up 34.8 percent on a year-ago basis. Housing clearly i...

The inventory of lower-priced homes for sale, which are commonly sought by first-time homebuyers, has dropped by more than 40 percent in California over the past year, according to a new Zillow analysis, which tracks changes in the number of homes listed for sale on Zillow across the country as of Sept. 30, 2012 and compares inventory changes in the bottom, middle and upper tiers of home pric...

The Consumer Price Index in September increased 0.6 percent, following a 0.6 percent surge the month before. Market expectations were for a 0.5 percent gain. Industrial Production made a partial comeback in September. But it does not appear to be related to underlying fundamentals-more to hurricane related swings. Here is today's mortgage rate update for today. See my web site at www.myslohomefinder.com   The Day Ahead: U.S. trade balance, Jobless Claims, Import/export price In August, the U.S. trade balance worsened and partially for the worse reason-exports declined, likely reflecting economic weakness in Europe and slower growth in Asia. Big improvement in Jobless Claims may be tied in part to the week's seasonal adjustment and will in any case have to be confirmed by improvement in subsequent weeks. Claims fell to 339,000 in the October 6 week for a 30,000 decline that's the biggest since July. Hikes are popping up in the Import/export price report though overall pressure remains subdued. Import prices jumped 1.1 percent in September which is very sharp and which matches August's revised jump...
