Today, June 6th marks the 70th Anniversary of the day that changed the outcome of World War II–Germany. After almost a year of planning, allies landed 24,000 American, British and Canadian forces on the beach at Normandy – the largest seaborne invasion in history, even to this date. One unfortunate point to this invasion was the weather. The beach was a fifty mile stretch and there had been five major points of landing in the plan, with one brigade planned for each point; however, due to strong winds the landing crafts were blown east of their main targets. They landed enough off course that they were met with heavy fire resistance from gun emplacements set to overlook the beach. Had they landed where originally planned, they would have been to the side of the major amount of German...

Average price per square foot for Simi Valley was $278, an increase of 13% compared to the same period last year. The median sales price for homes in Simi Valley for Mar 14 to May 14 was $450,000 based on 305 home sales. Comp...

We visit the cemeteries, placing flowers and flags upon their graves showing are continued grief and pain of loss, in addition to letting them know they have not been forgotten.   We owe a lot to these brave men and women who have fought over the centuries to ensure and secure our free way of life, maintained with integrity and principle. Let us live our lives as good honorable Americans in shining example of that which they fought so valiantly for; HONOR – display at all times respect to our family and fellow man, LIBERTY – showing our appreciation for our freedom by allowing the same for our fellow man, PURSUIT of HAPP...

HYPERLOCAL-Simi Valley Short Sale Real Estate Trends, Up, Down or Sideways? chrisbjohnsonrealtor By Chris B Johnson Realtor,   Simi Valley Home Sales during the month of March have ranged from a low of 12,808 in 2008 to a high of 37,030 in 2004. Last month’s sales were 26.9 percent below the average number of sales – 24,115 – for March since 1988. Sales haven’t been above average for any month in more than seven years. Southland home buying got off to a very slow start this year, with last month’s sales coming in at the second-lowest level for a March in nearly two decades. We see multiple reasons for this: The inventory of homes for sale remains thin in many markets. Investor purchases have fallen. The jump in home prices and mortgage rates over the past year has priced some peopl...

April 19th to May 25th Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center   Looking for something special to do this weekend? It is about a younger Dr. Frankenstein who attempts to finalize what his grandfather started years before him … bring a corpse back to life!   Whereas the original movie, ‘Frankenstein’, had people screaming in their seats, this play promises the only screams will be that of uproarious laughter.
