And Then I Noticed. . .   It might go unnoticed but not today.  As I walked by the Little Free Library on my path home this morning, I saw a couple going through the offerings available to them at the corner where members of the community share and read as well as replenish on a regular basis.   Of course, I have seen such examples in the past as well as people making their donations.  I Am Grateful For Those Baby Steps   I Am Grateful For Those Baby Steps  I have appreciated the importance of baby steps for a long time.  At an early age, the story of The Tortoise And The Hare took on a life form of its own as the story found many parallels in life.   Like, the fable, I believe that effort, diligence and perseverance are excellent qualities. In all aspects of life.  As an almost teenager I remember the first moon landing and those now famous words of moving forward in a giant leap.  Once again, baby steps were a part of the process, weren't they?     Examples of baby steps have played a role throughout my life but none so vividly remembered until December, 2017.  As I have previously shared(I apologize for being redundant), just before Christmas that year and days af...

Strength In Numbers   Strength In Numbers  It is apparent in real estate and in real life.  The importance of numbers.  The financial bottom line is clearly about numbers.   Perhaps not solely but a signicicant factor nonetheless.  And how those numbers are "divvied up" definitely have an influence in the equation of life.  The outcome of the game.  Who wins the race?  If we think about it long enough we can segue into a discussion of "winning".   I digress.    We can and do look at numbers with different eyes.  Depending on the person.  The situation.  Timing and strategy become parts   of that bigger picture.  Context, of course, as well.  Now about the strength of numbers.  How powerful can they be?  I wonder.  There's many ways to see strength... It's not the only thing but it's w...

Even A Broken Clock    Even A Broken Clock  Each of us is likely familiar with the phrase that even a broken clock is right twice a day. For absolutely no reason my mind pondered about questioning.  But while questioning of all sorts may be on some minds, the concept of information-gathering has been something I have pondered for some time.  Some may say for much too long.   When I think of questioning, I tend to think of answers too.  Isn't the goal of asking questions finding information?  At least that's part of it I hope.  It  can be achieved in a number of ways.  Remember back when you were in school.  There may have been a child in the front row of the classroom enthusiastically waving their hand.  Asking a question, perhaps answering.  Maybe some non sequitur.  Lots of possible ...

Pondering Before During And After     Pondering Before During And After  Everything has a life cycle.  People.  Things around us.  An important(or for that matter an un important) project. An event.   A real estate transaction, of course.  We can find many examples.  Some are obviously/intentionally shorter term than others.  Some by design and others for a variety of  reasons.    As I often do when pondering such things I check the quotes of others for inspiration and to see where my thoughts/mind may wander.  Off on a different tangent perhaps.  So here are three quotes I found that made me stop and say "Ah"...  I find that the way we look at words can be interesting. Let alone the way our(my) mind works.  Well, that's another subject...  Deep into that darkness peering, long I stoo...

Remembering The First Time       Remembering The First Time  I was reading the post by Jeff Dowler, CRS on his visit to Legoland with his granddaughter and family.  Memories came to the surface. Ah, the first time.  The mind jumps around.  The joys of first time experiences.  Once in a lifetime.  Never to happen in that same way - those same experiences - at least not exactly. Not Again.  You can probably relate to a number of "first time" experiences.  In life.  In school.  In business.  And in all sorts of things.   Just think about it.  For a second.  Good.  Bad.  Encouraging.  A feeling of  accomplishment.  I pondered on that for awhile and then looked to read what others might think on that subject.  The words I found were diverse.  As were the authors/speakers of those words.   ...

Slow Down You Are Moving Too Fast   Slow Down You Are Moving Too Fast  I have been known to speak too quickly.  Sometimes speaking before thinking if I am not mindful.  Moving too quickly.  Bypassing or skipping things as the world goes by.  There's a lot to be said for slowing down.  I am definitely trying it more. Each and every day. Being deliberate. Focus.  Staying aware.  And in-the-now.  Success?  I don't claim so.  Again, a work-in-progress is a more apt description.   The other day Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP commented on one of my posts where I used a photo of the Colorado Street Bridge in Pasadena, CA and she wrote of her fondness and appreciation of bridges.  She didn't mention the 59th Street Bridge but her comment led me to thinking of it as this post came to be.  I...
