Vista, California is holding onto it goal of providing housing options for low-income residents despite uncertainty surrounding re-development, the City Council decided at a workshop. The city's top priorities to give the run-down Paseo Santa Fe corridor a major face-lift, relocate mobile home park residents living in what the city call "substandard housing" and develop living space for special needs groups such as foster children transitioning into self-sufficiency are in limbo while the California Supreme court determines the future of redevelopment in the state.   The agencies are expecting to have to pay to schools and other programs 40% of tax revenues this fiscal year than 10% annually. Vista officials and volunteers will visit dozens of local companies next month in a one-day campaign to gather feedback about how the city can be more business friendly. The event is a joint effort between the city and the Vista Chamber of Commerce and will take place at the Vista Business Park on September 22, 2011. The agencies are recruiting volunteers with an interest in the city's business community to take part in the effort. Teams of two will visit up to 20 businesses during the business walk and ask proprietors questions. This event is modeled on a similar program in Sacramento. The Vista Irrigation District (VID) uses three sources for your drinking water. The First one is local water, which originates from the watershed and well field located near Lake Henshaw in Santa Ysable. VID owns the 43,000 arcre Warner Ranch which encompasses the lake and monitors any activity that could contaminate it. Water from Lake Henshaw is transferred to Lake Wohlford via a canal originally constructed in the the 1890s.   Once the water reaches the Escondido-Vista Water Treatment Plant it is treated and disinfected to protect you against microbial contaminants. The second water source is the Colorado River. The third source is from Northern California.
