Local Vista, California residents rally at the recent Vista City Council meeting to spurred on the City's lack of follow through on providing a new skate board park as promise. Two recent deaths of local Vista skate boarders has incited the families to gather support for a promised skate board park that was to replace the one that was razed to build the new Vista Civil Center. It has been nearly three years since Vista's lone skate park which open in January 1999 and then closed in 2008. At the time City officials pledged they would rebuild the park. Last October 2010 the Vista Community clinc, in Vista, Ca., opened it new offices on La Tortuga Drive. Now they are annoucing another expansion. The current location of one their facilities on Vale Terrace is being renovated to expand by 31,000 square feet. it will include 24 exam rooms, offices, waiting rooms conference rooms and classrooms. The expansion will create 42 new jobs and be build with $11.4 million in grant funding. Student attending Crestview Elementary School in Vista, Ca, will soon close and the students that are within the boundaries will merge with five other neighboring elementary school campuses. When Crestview closes at the end of this school season 2011, under a plan that was approved by the Vista Unified School District Board of Trustees. Cell Service on Gopher Canyon in Vista CA...FINALLY!!! I have noticed something fabulous over the last week or so...I tested it on day one...made it all the way through.  I tested it on day two...made it all the way through.  I tested it on day three...made it all the way through yet again!!!  I am talking about Gopher Canyon in Vista, people...there must be a new cell tower or something - because as one of the few "holes" left in cell service in North San Diego County - it was a constant thorn in my side.  I drive that road (10 min. each way to get to the I-15 freeway in Vista) at least 4 times a day Monday through Friday!  I am on the road 2 hours a day minimum...and this stretch really put a kink in my productivity.  I could chat away on my headset, dictating notes, talking to friend... 01/26/2011

An Escondido based charter school plans to open a satellite campus in Vista, Ca. The Classical Academy has been looking to expand into Vista for the last couple of years. Classical Academy will open a satellite campus in Vista's business park in February 2011. The 12,000 square foot building was recently vacated by another charter school. The City of Vista, Ca. is determining which of the four ambulances will be taken out of service. The City of Vista has decided to remove one of the ambulances due to budget issues,many residents are up in arms about this reason development, that will mean slower responding time. Fire Chief Gary Fisher said he expects the ambulance to be taken out of service Tuesday or as late as Saturday. What is of concern also is the border drop -- agreements has yet to be reached. Probably the ambulance is to be cut from Fire Station No.3 in norther Vista on Old Taylor Road or from Station No. 6 in downtown Vista near Wildwood Park.
