Breakfast and Cauliflower  We often get to the Carlsbad Farmers' Market on Wednesdays in Carlsbad Village, but haven't been to the Vista Farmers' Market for some time. It's every Saturday at the Courthouse Complex on Melrose, and is quite a bit bigger. We have our coffee at home, then venture out to enjoy breakfast at the Market (there are all sorts of food vendors - Indian, African, Vietnamese, vegan, crepes...the list goes on and on) and then do our produce shopping. We were pretty much done and walked by this one organic farm vendor with this beautiful cauliflower - it looked a lot like broccoli. We didn't need more but it was worth a photo. What a colorful dish this would make, don't you think? 01/18/2020

Emerald Auto Service Center in Vista CA A Shout-Out! My Mom had to have her car towed by AAA about a week ago – it was not drive-able due to an oil leak - and was referred to the Emerald Auto Service Center in Vista, a AAA-approved facility, about 4 miles from where she lives. We met her over there near the end of the day last Friday to get the verdict from the Service Manager, Kevin – there were some significant issues – and to give her a ride home. The work took about a week, given the complexity of what needed to be repaired, and the car was ready for my Mom to pick up yesterday afternoon as promised. Kevin, the Service Manager (and Hector, too), was excellent to work with.
