While elevated energy costs are certainly part of the problem, there’s a “phantom menace” that’s also been driving up your bill: New electronics.   Long gone are the days when shouting at the kids to “turn off the light!” was a sure way to save on electricity (though installing reduced-energy bulbs is a good move, too).
