Winter Weather Continues in Cedaredge and Snowpack Levels RiseThis is really amazing. It's like something we would see in the true winter season. Although it's nearing the end of April, the snow has been falling hard for two days. Temperatures are still fairly mild and hanging around 31 to 35 degrees so a lot of snow is melting. If it was colder there would probably be well over a foot of snow on the ground. Instead we seem to sit at around three to four inches in spite of almost constant snowfall. It won't even stick to paved areas. This picture was taken at the Cedaredge Town Park late this morning.I'm not complaining. We've had a crappy winter when you look at the snowfall totals. Powderhorn Ski Resort struggled to stay open for the entire season, but ended up closing a week early. T...

You Might Want to Use Your Colored BallsIf you want to play golf today in Cedaredge, the white ones will get lost in the snow. Our warm spring weather has taken a turn and we have snow on the ground. It's really no surprise. This happens to us quite a bit. If you aren't familiar with the weather in Colorado..well it can turn on you in a matter of minutes. That's just the way it is. It still amazes me how we can go from warm sunshine to several inches of snow. Now my spring pictures look more like Christmas holiday scenes. Yesterday I was wearing sandals and no jacket. Today I have my jacket and fleece lined shoes. Our weather is suppose to be unsettled for the next week. That's ok because we really need the moisture, and I hope we get a lot of rain or snow. I've lived on Colorado's West...

Don't Worry It's Only Temporary The Main Street construction is temporary and I've been assured it will only last one day. This isn't like the summer and fall of 2013 when Main Street was completely remodeled, and we were serenaded by jack hammers for months.  The concrete guys are here for a day to fix a long crack that runs along the sidewalk in front of Cedaredge Land Company and Hairport. This involves removing the center section of concrete and re-pouring. That's it. Then it's back to Main Street business as usual.  As a side note...I wonder how many new little kitty tracks Sandy's cats will leave in the wet concrete? I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a REALTOR®, I al...

More Spring Time Pictures Cedaredge, CO  Daytime temperatures are reaching up towards the mid 70s as we get ready to head into April. The old saying for March...In like a lion and out like a lamb, is holding true this year. Our rainy start to the month made way for a dry and warm start to April.  The peach trees are blooming. This is my peach tree you see in the first picture. Last year the branches were loaded with fruit. I had enough to share with all of my friends.   The apricots are blooming and some of them may have been hit with a frost last week. The forsythia is blooming all over town and the butter cups and daffodils are putting on a good show, too. Soon we will start to see the cherry trees bloom.  Now in Colorado you know the weather can change in a minute. I've personally se...

Welcome Spring to Cedaredge, CO...Friday Foto The spring season never ceases to amaze me. How the perennial flowers, shrubs and trees can leaf out and sent out amazing blooms after a long, cold winter is truly a miracle.  The signs of spring are all around us in Cedaredge and the surrounding area. The forsythia shrubs are in full bloom. This is usually our first color of the season. The warm weather has caused the apricot trees to flower out as well. It's a bit early and there's a chance the harvest was ruined by two nights of below freezing temperatures. That's the chance you take. Spring weather in Colorado is unpredictable.  Our daytime temperatures are reaching up into the upper 60s. The sun is bright and spring is moving forward upon us. I enjoy and love all of the seaons, but spri...

Easter Egg Hunt 2015, Cedaredge Delta County, CO Every year the Cedaredge Lion's Club hosts an Easter Egg Hunt. It's usually the Saturday before Easter. This year is no different. The annual egg hunt is on April 4th, 2015 at the Catholic Church behind the old elementary school building. It's for kids 10 and under. It's free and it starts at 10AM. Many years ago I was a regular attendee at this event, because back then I had a child under ten. The local Lion's Club does a great job, and the kids have a lot of fun. Be sure to get there before it starts. The kids are quick and it doesn't last long so you won't want to be late.  HAPPY EASTER!!! I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. A...

It Won't Be Long...4 B's Brewery Will Soon Open in Cedaredge, CO It's been a long winter's wait for the first brewpub to open in Cedaredge. Plans were started for the brewery last fall, and now everything is almost in place. 4 B's Brewery hopes to be open in mid April.  I watched the last big piece of the brewery equipment come in earlier this week. This vat is so big, the guys had to take out the front picture window to get it into the building. The brewery will be in the old pharmacy building. While I was admiring the shiny silver tank, I heard Mike King, the brewer, talking. He's shooting for mid April for opening.  That's the latest news. I know we are all looking forward to this grand opening.  I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it ha...

The Surface Creek Trail Cedaredge, CO Serendipity Sunday Well the much talked about winter storm is here. We are getting a lot of snow. For the first few hours it didn't stick to the ground, but now it is. It's adding up fairly quickly. This is Colorado and we are used to the snow. I didn't let that stop me from getting out today and taking my dog, Lucky, for a walk. We stopped by the Surface Creek Trail. This trail is in town, but it doesn't feel like it. It's all wooded and follows Surface Creek for about two miles. The trail is really beautiful in the summer and very green and shaded. It's a nice way to cool off from the summer's heat.  As you can see from the picture, it's also has it's own beauty in the winter. The trail gets used year round by joggers, walkers and bikers. It's so ...
