Did You Buy The Wrong Gift For Your Valentine? From A Woman's Perspective. This one is really for the guys. If you are like my husband, you waited until the last minute to find that perfect gift. One that was easy for you to get and you hoped would fit the bill. Well here's some pointers to keep you from making a mistake next year. Keep in mind that Mother's Day isn't all that far away, and the same rules apply. 10) A discounted perfume called Trouble will only cause you trouble. 9) A complete makeover certificate from the local spa only sends the wrong message. 8) A tattoo on your butt, or anywhere else for that matter, isn't a great gift. While some women may get some temporary enjoyment knowing you suffered through a lot of pain for the effort, there is still no tangible item to enjoy...

Tonight I'm Going to Copy Roger Mucci. I love reading Roger's blog. Talk about someone with something to say...even when he says he doesn't have anything to say. I admire that, and he could probably sell swamp land in the Arizona desert with a large bridge thrown in, for a small fee, for the cash buyer. So tonight, I'm going to do a blog about nothing. Just things happening around me. I do have a lot going on in my real estate business right now. It's just not anything news worthy. I'm working on four new listings, but I'm afraid one is going to cause me some trouble. The seller thinks Zillow is the real estate expert for our area. My CMA be damned. That's not what Zillow says. I just answer the phone when he calls, and I keep my mouth shut. The seller is from the other side of the stat...

Renters Can Develop GOOD CREDIT By Paying Their Rent On Time. Some property management companies are reporting timely rent payments to Experian. New software applications are making this easy and possible for rental management companies that use the software. Cedaredge Land Company has a property management department that is using the software. CLC manages over 80 rental properties. Now renters can help their credit score by paying rent on time. The software reports the timely payment taking this task off of the property management department. This reporting of on time rent payments is a big benefit to tenants that aren't credit active based consumers. If available...up to 25 months of rental payment history is reported. Negative rental payment information, such as a collection account...

Don't Save the Spirit of Giving for the Winter Holidays. November and December seem to be the time of year when everyone is in a good sharing and giving spirit. It's wonderful to hear the stories about giving trees running out of room, and food pantries having to find extra space for all the donations. These stories warm the heart and make everyone else want to help out, too. It's contagious. But the giving state of mind shouldn't be saved for just the holidays. The need is real, and present all year long.   Now that the holiday season is behind us, this donation box stands mostly empty a lot of the time. Over the years, I've helped one organization raise money for a local food bank. This is a difficult time of the year for these resources, because their food shelves get depleted around...

Foto Friday...Where's Cedaredge, CO? If you live in this wonderful, small mountain town on Colorado's Western Slope, that's an easy question. But today most people are hard pressed to find Cedaredge, CO...even the locals.         I took this picture this morning from about the middle of Cedar Mesa Hill. Normally this is a great spot to overlook the town and surrounding valley, but not today.                 This picture was taken about two weeks ago from almost the same spot in the road. You can see the fence posts in both pictures, and you can see Cedaredge. Today is a foggy day and there's no sign of it lifting, but the gray skies are bringing some much needed moisture to The Surface Creek Area and other parts of Delta County, Colorado. Travel safe out there. The roads are slippery.  ...

Spring Thaw in January...Cedaredge, CO Temperatures Soar. Temperatures are up near 40 degrees today causing all the snow and ice to melt. At Cedaredge Land Company, we take this very seriously.   The snow melts and turns to ice behind the office. You could skate on this stuff. Now with the warm temps, the ice is melting and water is threatening to come in the back door. Thankfully I have some strong backs to help take care of the situation. You see Broker Owner, Perry Hotz, and Broker Associate, Austin Keiser, hard at work to remove the ice. One of these days, the guys are going to get smart and just plow the area behind the office.   I was there for moral support and to take a few pictures.   Happy Tuesday, Everyone.       I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 22 years. I lov...

Snow Means Everything to us in Colorado. A lot of snow means we'll have good produce, veggies and fruit, in the summer and fall. Colorado is a year around outdoor lover's paradise. The summers have people venturing out into the woods, lakes and mountains for hiking, camping and just to have fun. Our streams and lakes are popular with fisherman and rafters. Winter time has people heading to the high country for downhill and cross country skiing. Where would we be without the snow? Our winter snowfall even impacts our summer time activities. Our farmers are also hoping for a good snow year, so they will have irrigation water this summer.   Throughout the western states, snow is carefully measured all winter. It's measured in inches and the amount of water it holds. The winter accumulation...

Water Issues are a Hot Topic on Colorado's Western Slope. Find out how these issues affect you and the Western Slope landscape. There will be two meetings held in the Surface Creek Area of Delta County. A host of local water experts will be on hand to answer your questions.   The public is invited to come and learn about water issues facing Colorado, the Gunnison Basin and the Surface Creek Area. This meeting will cover basic irrigation issues, but it's more about how our water is managed and allocated and how a lack of it will affect Colorado and the Western Slope specifically. I got a sneak peak of what will be discussed at the Delta County Board of REALTORS® general membership meeting. Two hours will barely cover the water issues facing our area. When and where: Tuesday, January 29th...

It Was A Great Game...Too Bad About The Ending, Though. I really thought The Denver Broncos had what it took to go all the way this year, but it wasn't meant to be. The game started off great and fans had high hopes when Trindon Holliday returned a punt and scored on The Broncos first possession.   Holliday should be the MVP for The Denver Broncos. He returned that punt for 90 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter and then returned a 104 yard kick in the third quarter for another touchdown. But a win wasn't in The Broncos future. It was a close game from the beginning. The Broncos would score and then The Ravens would score. They traded scores the whole game. The Bronco's season ended tonight in the AFC playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. It took two overtimes for the Ravens...
