Seriously Good Bald Eagle Pictures Cedaredge, CO InformationBald eagles are a common sighting during the winter months. They won't be around for much longer. They love to nest on Cedar Mesa. The best time to see them is from early December to February. Today I was up on Cedar Mesa taking pictures of a house. That was fun, but the real treat for me was spotting this eagle on my way back to the office. This great creature stayed still while I shot off many pictures. You can see more of them on my Facebook page.Although I was really hoping he would take flight, and I could get some pictures of him in the air. This bird wasn't phased at all by my standing there. Serendipity Sunday...Spring FeverYou can see it in their eyes...the excitement and sheer pleasure these dogs are experiencing. A few days ago, Sue and I got the dogs together for a late afternoon romp. They had the best time.We haven't seen much sun this winter. That's unusual for Western Colorado, but lately we've had very spring like temperatures, the snow is melting and the sun has returned. I think everyone has a bit of spring fever...the dogs included.  I love this picture of Lucky and Madison. Earlier in the week I posted some other pictures of the two playing together, but this one is my favorite. Look at Lucky's teeth, and the wild look in his eyes. Scenes From the Cedaredge 2016 Crockpot for Critters Shelter FundraiserThis is another Cedaredge event that keeps getting bigger and better every year. This was the third year for Crockpot for Critters. The dinner is one of the biggest single fundraising efforts for the animal shelter. I was volunteering. My best guess is we served close to 400 people. The community center was packed, and the food line went almost all the way around the room. So many Delta County businesses supported the shelter. Over 100 items were donated for the silent auction. If you aren't familiar with Crockpot for Critters, think of it as a big community potluck. Dogs Just Wanna Fun...Friday Foto In spite of the warmer weather, we still have a lot of snow on the ground. That doesn't seem to matter, though. I'm feeling like spring is here and the days are just beautiful. The dogs are feeling it, too. Yesterday I took Lucky out for a run with his friend, Madison. For those of you that don't know Lucky, he's the black dog. The dogs had a great time as you can see. They ran and chased each other, and took turns with the ball. There was a lot of doggie tag happening. I enjoyed the day, too. For almost a week our temperatures have been creeping up, and it's beginning to feel a lot like spring. Old Man Winter and Mother Nature Teamed Up for Another Cedaredge SnowFebruary is starting off with a bang in terms of snowfall. I love this stuff, and watching it snow. I was like a kid at Christmas looking out the window this morning to see how much snow had fallen overnight. I shoveled the walks in front of my house last night. This morning it looked like I hadn't shoveled at all. That's the downside to a lot of snow...shoveling it. Snow fell all day on Sunday, but a lot of it melted as it hit the ground. Last night was different, though. It got cold and the snow stuck.
