Centennial, CO Real Estate News

What a fun evening! Once again, the Piney Creek Women's League scored a big winner with last week's 5th Annual Casino Night at the Piney Creek Clubhouse. The Casino Night committee worked hard, as they do every year, to make this event one of the most anticipated and fun events of the year. Professional dealers showed great patience as they willingly taught us many of the secrets and intricacies of the various games of chance. At the end of the evening, winnings were tallied and the "fun money" was used to bid for some absolutely beautiful and fun gift baskets. Living in Piney Creek has so many rewards with the Piney Creek Clubhouse topping the list. The clubhouse is available (by reservation through the community manager) to residents living in Piney Creek. If you would like to know mo...

Title Insurance Centennial Colorado Once you find the property you wish to call "home", you AND the lender want to be given a full disclosure of ownership and liens associated with that property before the purchase transaction is completed. That information is provided in the form of an ALTA (American Land Title Association) policy. Unlike other forms of insurance that focus on possible future events and charge an annual premium, title insurance is purchased for a one-time payment expense and is a safeguard against loss arising from hazards and defects already existing in the title. Prior to being issued a title insurance policy, a close examination of all public records that involve title to the real estate is done. The person, who is a licensed and bonded agent, conducting the search ...

Homeowners Insurance Centennial Colorado When shopping for homeowners insurance in Centennial, or most any other area for that matter, there's much more to consider than how much your coverage will cost. You need to buy the right type of policy AND be sure to get the proper coverage. For instance, the needs of a buyer of a condo or townhome will differ from the needs and costs of homeowners insurance for a single family homeowner. We, as the lender, require that you have sufficient insurance to cover exposure determined only by the amount of your loan. You, on the other hand, may desire increased coverage on your home and you may want to consider provisions for personal valuables such as jewelry, your computer equipment and other possessions. That is why it's so important to take time t...

Like most of my Piney Creek neighbors, I was sad to see our neighborhood recently lose its Albertsons store. There is a Wal-Mart not too far away, as well as a King Soopers. A little further down the road there is a newly opened Sunflower, along with a brand new Sprouts store. Still, Albertsons was the closest to Piney Creek and very convenient for its residents to stop by for milk.  It was recently announced that the former Albertsons on Smoky Hill Road, along with four other local Albertsons locationsm will become California-based Smart and Final stores - think Sprouts and Sunflower on steroids.  This is going to be a great convenience for the residents of Piney Creek. What a relief to not see a big-box empty Albertsons store and to see some new life in this location. There is no better measure of the quality of life for our citizens than this".There are six crime statistics used when calculating the crime rate rankings: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft. One of the great things about Denver's Residential Real Estate is its "Hidden Charms".  Scattered throughout the Metro Area, residential enclaves surprise the adventuresome house hunter.  Denver, Lakewood, Aurora, Broomfield, Golden, Littleton, Englewood, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Parker, Castle Rock and Morrison all enjoy their own little slices of heaven.   As Centennial matures into a safe, respected and highly accessible city, it too enjoys its own slices of residential heaven.  In the early 1970s when Centennial was unincorporated Arapahoe County, some of the most respected names in residential construction sought their fame and fortune along what are now the Streets of Centennial.  Writer, Sanford, Celebrity, Hallcraft, Richmond and many others staked their claims a...

The Denver Post had an article about elevators in homes on Sunday, October 11, 2009 titled "Elevators Moving Up in Popularity at Home."  In the article, it explains how elevators allow people to stay in their homes longer, and they provide versatility with families who frequently have older parents staying with them for extended periods of time.  The owner of an elevator company is quoted as saying that about 500 residential elevators are being installed annually in Metro Denver. We just happen to have a new listing on the market at 7395 S. Gargield Ct, Centennial, CO 80122.  This home has its own elevator.  Its MLS 816698 and you can check it out at www.7395Garfield.com or www.BevGrothProperties.com.  This one is great for a family with a live-in nanny or an older relative.  Its in a g...

The Knolls of South Suburban Denver is one of the best values in the Centennial Area.  My mom and I have helped over 200 families with their real estate needs in this neighborhood and I delivered newspapers and grew up in The Knolls. Lately, 14 homes have gone under contract or sold since June 1, 2009.  This leave only 3 active listings the best of which is 7123 S. St. Paul St.  Check it out on our website at www.BevGrothProperties.com.  There is definitely a shortage of inventory in this neighborhood and after a little stall earlier in the year we are seeing things move in The Knolls.  We do have another listing coming in The Knolls as well. After all, it does make sense with interest rates low, blue ribbon schools and the recent opening of the Streets of Southglenn.  This pool and ten...

Its been a while since my last blog post.  I wanted to take this opportunity to talk about a grass roots GREEN event that was I was very excited about.  Two Knolls families in Centennial Colorado bought homes we had listed and shortly after moving in, installed solar systems.  They decided to organize a home tour to show off their systems.  I naturally volunteered to help sponsor and promote it because I am an EcoBroker and I have special training in GREEN issues in real estate. Last Saturday, April 11th the Solar Home Tour began and both providers were present with representatives explaining their techniques and benefits.  There was plenty of interest from the neighbors and a steady stream of traffic through each home.  The two companies were Standard Renewable Energy and Simple Solar....
