I'm the kind of guy that strongly believes in you reap what you sow, you get what you give, an eye for an eye (some would call it karma).  I cannot tell you how frustrating, time wasting and inconsiderate it is when agents don't bother giving feedback to the listing agent (me, specifically).  It makes no sense!  Why would a seller even consider allowing someone in their home without a basic expectation of providing feedback?  It goes both ways, if you want to see my house (yes, it is for sale and thank you for showing it!), please tell me what you and your clients thought of my house.  From my perspective as a listing agent, it makes my job that much more difficult.  I have to track down the showing agent (sometimes with multiple voice mail messages and/or e-mails), the advise that I pr...

It's amazing to me how much real estate has changed in the last several years.  Back in the day, it was all about newspapers and various other forms of print advertising.  Today, you had better be on the internet!In fact, I am at the tipping point of abandoning print advertising altogether.  Why?  Well, if the most active home buying demographic starts the process of shopping for a home on-line (over 75%), should I keep spending thousands of dollars each year on print advertising? I say no. I can be a more effective and utilize the resources that I would normally use to market a home, on-line. I've purchased a few homes in my soon to be middle aged lifetime.  The first and second home that I bought was in a community that I knew so well, I really didn't need any hand holding (pre-real estate career).  When my family and I decided to relocate to Colorado, we worked with a veteran real estate agent that was referred to us by a friend.Over the phone, we spoke with this agent about our needs and wants.  When we came out to actually look for houses, my wife and I would step into the front door of houses that the agent had picked out for us to see.  Upon entry to the majority of the houses my wife and I would just look at each other with a "what are we doing here" look.  In the end, the houses we eventually made offers on were houses that my wife and had found ourselves.As an real ...
