Highlands Ranch Celebration - 4th of July The 4th of July is a holiday I have always enjoyed.  Living in Highlands Ranch, that tradition continues for me & my family as we have regularly participated in the Highlands Ranch Independence Day celebrations here in town.  Last year was no different and we spent a good part of our day at the celebration at Town Center.  My kids frolicked in the fountains at Civic Green Park, checked out the kiddie rides, listened to the music from the Civic Green Park stage, splurged on ice cream & treats in Town Center and off course - topped off the night with Fireworks.  This year will be no different for Highlands Ranch as they celebrate once again with a full day of festivities.  Think about stopping by for the whole day or just for a little - either way...

Highlands Ranch Restaurants - The Old Blinking Light Kitchen & Cocktails A few weeks ago, we had some company in town and it was an extremely busy week-end.  We wanted to pick out a great restaurant that was close by, but still offered something unique and different.  Living in an area that does have its fair-share of chain restaurants - it is such a refreshing change to dine at a restuarant like The Old Blinking Light.  The atmosphere is great - we dined inside - but there is also a terrific patio complete with a fire pit that will be ideal for the upcoming beautiful Colorado summer evenings.  Between all of us, we tried entrees such as Baby Back Ribs, the Poblano Relleno and a Spinach Enchillada.  We also tried a couple of the sides including some sweet potato fries.  My kids split a ...

Highlands Ranch Carnival  This is the week that the Bill Mayes Shows Carnival is in town, here in Highlands Ranch.  If you have driven down Wildcat Reserve parkway lately, you have seen the set-up.  And if you have kids, they have begged that you can go.  I was showing homes this past weekend to out of town home buyers, and they were excited that they were here in time to visit the carnival as well.  So here are the details.  The Carnival is now on - every day this week the hours are: Monday - Friday 4pm - 11pm Saturday & Sunday 1pm - 11pm Sunday June 17th is the last day of the Carnival in Highlands Ranch. Family Concert Aimed for the Kids in Highlands Ranch Pack your picnic and head to Civc Geen Park tomorrow, June 13th for the special "Kids Koncert".  The concert will begin at 6:30 and feature Michael Friedman and Swingset Jazz.  These family oriented Kids Koncerts are great for getting the kids involved and give them a great reason to love concerts in the park as much as their parents!  There are so many great activities in Highlands Ranch year round - just one of the reasons I love living and working here.  See you there!  Civic Green Park is just south of the Highlands Ranch Library and parking is amble all around and at the nearby park & ride lot.

  HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO - HOMES SALES NUMBERS FROM MAY 2007 REAL ESTATE MARKET REPORT   Here are numbers from May 2007 regarding the activity in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.   On May 31, 2007 there were 637 homes that were Active Listings - Homes for Sale.  In May 2007, there were 290 homes that were Under Contract.  Of those, 204 went Under Contract in May.  Of the homes that were Under Contract (290), 172 of them closed in May.    What does this mean?  Yes, there is a lot of inventory.  But there is activity.  Homes are selling.  To sell your home, make sure it is in great shape and priced right.  Do not over price a listing or your home will not be part of the sold statistics in these reports.  *Statistics from MLS deemed accurate but not guaranteed. *These numbers may not include FSBO a...

A business owner I spoke with recently has been trying to sell his business for a year with no luck. He didn't know how to value his type of business, and doesn't have a current P&L or balance sheet. His tax returns show a loss, but he's making money. After recasting his numbers, we showed an $80,000/yr profit for the business. It has been SBA approved, and should sell quickly.
