This is the 16th annual community garage sale in Stonegate. June 4th and 5th 2010. Stonegate is located 3 miles east of the I-25 and Lincoln exit on Douglas County. Stonegate is on the North and South side of Lincoln just West of the Lincoln and Jordan intersection. The times are listed as 8AM to 2PM but in years past there are usually people open for business as early as 7AM and staying open until almost dark. Come and enjoy!

It seems like we’ve all been waiting for years for Parker’s new reservoir – Reuter Hess – to open. Well, we have since construction started in 2008. TeamCox Realtors did a little research on the status of Douglas County’s grandiose new reservoir’s construction to keep everyone updated. The reservoir will eventually hold drinking water for Castle Rock, Parker, Castle Pines North and other local municipalities. According to the Parker Water and Sanitation District, The State Engineers Office of Dam Safety approved a request in February allowing the first water to be stored in Reuter-Hess. The approval allows for a depth of 43 feet of water, or 5,000 acre-feet of water to be stored. The construction of the dam will not be completed until February 2012. It was confirmed that County Health officials found a skunk with rabies on private property in the area of E-470 and Gartrell Road in Parker.  The skunk appeared to behaving abnormally and was seen during daylight hours, which in itself was odd because skunks are primarily nocturnal.Because of this discovery, Health Officials recommen residents of the area to be particularly careful not to handle or feed wildlife.  Healthy wild animals will normally avoid human contact, therefore, if any wild animal approaches you, take extra care to avoid contact.  Even mere contact with saliva is not advised.Health officials recommend that residents in the area have their domestic pets vacinated.  People that own livestock such as cattle or horses are advised to consult with their veterinarian.This is...

Pine Grove Elementary Construction in Stonegate Village  Parker Colorado   commenced March 2010. There were three schools in the district that were identified in the 2006 bond issue: Pine Grove, Fox Creek, and Coyote Creek Elementary Schools. Specifically, Pine Grove Elementary in Stonegate Village Parker Colorado will get a new preschool suite, secondary classroom and a new art room addition. The current art room will be converted into special education suite.     Skate Park in Parker CO.   It’s been a truly epic, sick, totally cool, rad, wicked, tweaked day at the Parker Skate Park. Parker Colorado built a new skate park a few years ago and it seems to be a hit with the kids. I’ve been here with my 5 year old at least 20 times over the past 2 years and there is always at least a few kids here skating, biking or riding scooters. Good job Parker, Colorado! Sometimes it gets pretty crowded. My take on bringing kids here is that it is a great place to come. There is a massive pool area for the kids to ride in and ramps, rails, benches, stairs, drops and mini pools for them to enjoy. Parker Arts, Cultural and Event Centers (PACE) Update There are many exciting things happening in Parker, Colorado right now! One of them is the development of the Parker Arts, Cultural and Event Center‘s (PACE), which will be located at the southeast corner of Mainstreet and Pine Drive, is slated to open during the fall of 2011. There are big plans for this state-of-the-art facility, which according to the Town of Parker, will “provide a variety of family-oriented cultural, arts, scientific and educational programming to Parker residents.” The facility, which will boast a 500-seat theater, an event room, a dance studio and classroom space, will also be available for residents to rent for social events. New Clubhouse for the Stonegate Pool   Stonegate neighborhood in Parker Colorado is receiving a massive remodel/face lift/addition to the "SOUTH" pool and looks like it should be completed pretty soon. My kids are excited and cannot wait for the new kids pool. This was a total shock to most residents as most had no idea this was even on the schedule to be done. What is going on with Hess Road? There have been rumblings throughout Parker and Douglas County for years about the fate of Hess Road. It is a work in progress, and it will eventually open up a major traffic artery to Parker and Castle Rock residents once it is finished. Parker residents, especially those in Stroh Ranch, Canterberry Crossing, and Horse Creek, were thrilled with the recent completion of a large stretch of Hess Road in Parker. There hasn’t been much noticeable activity since then, so now what? Douglas County recently began construction on the east phase of Hess Road to I-25. Sidewalks/Streets upgraded in Stonegate Village Parker Colorado- In March 2010, Douglas County started a sidewalk and corner/handicap ramp replacement project that is scheduled to be complete by end of May so that the overlay and surface treatment of the asphalt streets can commence in June. The current project, as of today, will replace between 3,400 - 3,600 linear feet of concrete sidewalks in Stonegate Village Parker Colorado and does not include the handicapped ramps at the corners of each street.
