Living in a Mountain resort community like Silverthorne Colorado we have to live with certain things. We pay a premium for certain items, we live with tourists, and we have a limited home improvment supply. We'll that may not be the case any more. Despite this weeks anouncement by Home depot that they are shutting dow 15 underperforming stores, and cutting back on expansion plans this year they are moving forward with their plans to build a store next to the Blue River in silverthorne. Sighting the robust western slope economy in Colorado they have formaly completed their application with the town and have plans to build a 100,000 square foot location. I must admit we are a bit biased living in Silverthorne but it just amazes us how our little city continues to move forward and in a big way. The newest addition to our town is Anglers Mountain Ranch.The land, formerly known as Clark Ranch, has been the subject of numerous development proposals over the years, most notably a high-end golf course community in 2003, but none were approved.The ranch had been zoned for 507 housing units and a 350-room hotel. The previous PUD density was not fitting of Silverthorne's overall structure and layout.
