Here are important things to find out before buying a condo in Steamboat: 1.      What are the HOA fees and what do they cover? The monthly condo fees can range quite a bit from one development to another.  For example, the number of amenities a property offers will affect dues.  A Steamboat resort condo develop...

Recently, there were significant price reductions on some lots in Steamboat.  The Steamboat Barn Village is where the famous poster shot was taken of cowboys on horses with their skis against the backdrop of the historic More Barn. This is a great piece of land that has a walking trail on the perimeter, Fish Creek bordering the north side and views of the ski mountain, valley and Emerald Mountain that are incredible. The central location makes this a great investment for building now while construction prices are lower or hold for the future. Prices begin at $224,950 and there are some sweet lots by the creek. Steamboat Springs’ Town Challenge Mountain Bike Race Series was a success at Marabou to many riders this year. Racing the Marabou trails is a unique treat for local riders. The private trail system is only made available to the public for a few weeks in the spring, and that window closed with Wednesday’s race. Although most of the Town Challenge series throws daunting climbs up Emerald Mountain or Mount Werner at competitors, Wednesday’s race was a true cross-country course. It featured gradual inclines, fun drops and miles of not-so-technical riding. "The massive field — up from last year’s first-race enrollment, Sehler said — drank up the delicious singletrack." “It was my first time, and I loved it,” Sherri Sweers said. “It was beautiful. I wanted to tell the group I was with to stop...

Yampa River Water Fractal I was watching the Yampa River in Steamboat Springs Colorado rush over a rock a few days ago and I was captivated by the patterns of the ripples. There was an unusual coloration of the rock and the combination of the changing ripples and the light seemed to have a fractal effect. The simple things in nature are sometimes the most beautiful to behold.     Boulder Green Built Homes For Sale Contact Me Today For More Information Or Call Me At 720-771-5594 Click Here to Search More Denver and Boulder County Homes For Sale   If you or someone you know is interested in buying or selling a home in Boulder County or anywhere in Denver Metro please call me. High Temps in the High Country Causes Flooding My wife and I spent the weekend in Steamboat Springs Colorado. We got a nice little cabin right on the Yampa River at Steamboat Springs Campground. On the first day the temperature shot up over 90 degrees. The rapid snow melt caused so much run-off on the first night there the water rose about 6 inches causing flooding all around our cabin. All across the state the rivers and creeks are unseasonably high. The water in Steamboat Springs Campground rose even higher on the second night but we were never in any danger. Actually, it was kind of romantic to have our own private cabin island. The outdoor fireplace was completely flooded and the water reached above the first step to the cabin. The staff even built us a bridge so we could get to the ...

"The mountain real estate market plunged so far last year that it seemed there was practically no place for it to go but up this year." says the Denver Post. It seems like its becoming true, it turns out. Compared to a year ago, the first quarter of this year, many resort areas have seen numbers of homes sold, which is going in the right direction. The improving first quarter sales have given many mountain real estate professionals a reason to be optimistic. Steamboat has been improving the mountain base area and have more plans this summer in action. We always seem to be improving for residents and visitors to Steamboat, which makes us a true real-mountain town. "Routt County statistics reveal a similar trend, with the number of transactions during the first quarter rising almost 113%,...

Storm Mountain was renamed Mount Werner in honor of Buddy Werner, who perished in an avalanche in 1964.     Dubbed "Ski Town USA," Steamboat Springs has produced more Olympic athletes than any other town in North America. Even before Jim Temple first planted chair lifts on Storm Mountain in the 1960s and founded what is now the world-class Steamboat ski resort, skiing was a way of life. As a resort community, Steamboat Springs receives more than a half-million visitors annually, but tourism hasn't supplanted Steamboat's "real town" character. The historic downtown remains the hub where locals converge not just for shopping, but fo civis festivals: On Halloween, Lincoln Avenue is closed to vehicles so costumed families can go trick-or-treating from store to store, and during Winter Carni...
