  Last year was a Very Special Durham Fair for me.  Last year I got to take my first grandchild, the gorgeous Elizabeth to her 2nd Durham Fair.  The first Durham, CT Fair I took Elizabeth to she was only 11 weeks old, and last year she was 1 year and 3 months and very active as you will see from the pictures below.  She loves animals and can't seem to get enough of them.  This year however, my son and daughter in-law moved to South Carolina, so my wife and I will not get to take her the 2016 Durham, CT Fair This Weekend.  I will miss not taking Elizabeth to her 3rd Durham, CT Fair, but I do have special memories to the first two I got to take her to.Elizabeth is growing way to fast, and and keeping up with here is not easy.  Below are of Elisabeth having fun with all the animals at the ... 09/22/2016

   The 2016 Durham, CT 4-H Fair is going to be held at the Durham Fair Grounds this coming weekend, Friday through Sunday.  This is a great opportunity for the whole family to do something together. I don't know if you have ever been to a 4-H Fair, but there is something of interest for everyone in the family. I don't think people associate Connecticut with agriculture, but truth be know Connecticut has a number of working farms throughout the state, and Middlesex County has many more than people may be aware of.  I live in an area of Middletown known as South Farms, and within walking distance of my house there are at least four working farms.   The 2016 Durham Farmers Market is underway and will be held again this year on  every Thursday until September in front of the Durham Town Hall, and across from the Durham Post Office on Main Street in Durham, CT.  It is held right on the Durham Green, and there is ample parking. One of my favorite things about Summer is all of the Farmers Markets in the area, and the Durham Farmers Market is one of the better ones in my area.  The Durham Farmers Market offers up a variety of local grown fruits and vegetables, as well as home made baked goods. It is impossible to go to the Durham Farmers Market and not purchase more than originally planned, because everything their just looks so good.
