Tucked away among the farms of South Glastonbury is a hidden gem - a family farm, the Cavanna Farm - where you can cut down your Christmas Tree. There are fields of beautiful firs and spruces for nearly every ceiling height. When you find your perfect tree, just shout out, and someone will be right there with the chain saw and tractor to cart the tree to your vehicle. Next to the "hut" is a display of beautiful wreaths for sale! Ribbon included! If you haven't bought your Christmas Tree yet, don't worry, the Cavanna Farm has plenty of trees left, and a good selection to boot! Cavanna's Farm is located at 80 Woodland St., South Glastonbury, CT 06073, just off of Hopewell Road. The Cavanna Farm is a year round farm. Check them out in every season! A couple of weeks ago I wrote about networking and making the best use of your time.  Hopefully some of those tips were helpful.  If you are becoming more comfortable with being out and about, what is the next step in helping your business grow?  In the city I live in, Las Vegas, you can pretty much network 24/7 every day of the week and a lot of it is Free or inexpensive, i.e. $10-$20 fee to participate.  How do you decide if "joining" a networking referral group makes sense versus going to various events that do not require a membership?  I am constantly receiving emails,  LinkedIn and Facebook invitations to events that occur on a regular basis but do not require a membership. Some cater to a younger audience, some cater more to women - it pretty much runs the gamut.  What to do?  Fr...

Glastonbury....New England Grace on the Connecticut River Quintessential New England grace distinguishes Glastonbury, situated on the eastern border of the Connecticut River in central Connecticut, just nine miles southeast of Hartford, the state Capitol.  For all its near proximity to the urban sophistication, Glastonbury is a quietly historic haven that was founded in 1693.  The broad Main Street's gracious homes and classic Town Green vividly evoke the past; The Old Cider Mill, circa the early 1800's and the most antique mill, is still pressing delicious refreshments; the Glastonbury- Rocky Hill Ferry, the oldest continually operating ferry in the country, has been bringing inhabitants over the water since 1655. Striking a balance between meeting the current needs of its citizens and...
