It’s a great time of the year to take a drive down the avenue. I’m not very elegant with my words, so I’ll leave the similes to the poets. If you are looking for white zinfandel (booooo) or something in a box (yeahhhh) this isn’t your place. WineWise is a boutique wine shop focused on small production wines that you’ll have a hard time finding elsewhere. They do not deal high-volume, discount store wine. The store is great and has a constantly changing selection of wines from all around the globe. To those of us who might need some help picking out bottles or want to try out something new, I couldn’t recommend WineWise more. As some of you are aware, I've been spending a couple months trying to figure out what I want to put together for a local webpage.  My intentions have been to create a community webpage for clients and locals to play around with.  At the suggestion of an Active Rain member, I started Greenwich365.com where I post a new thing to do in Greenwich, CT every day.  I'm still staying on with that, but I have combined it into a better page! With some creative searching and spending of coin, I got hold of www.GreenwichCT.com.  I hope to create a blogging platform/forum here for people to talk all about the town on. What do you think? From my blog at: Greenwich365.com THING 54 – Buy Your Luminaries Fundraisers are cool, but you end up spending all night talking to people you either see every day or people you have no interest in talking to. I’m a fan of raising money for well deserving causes and appreciate original ways to get people to contribute. Over the past 17 years, the Center for HOPE and The Den for Grieving Kids has been selling luminaries and promoting outdoor flames. I’m sure these little bags are safe, but there is always something nice about lighting a little fire. The official luminary season started with a display at Binney Park on December 4th, but the real display night is this Sunday. At 5pm on Sunday night (Dec 12th) thousands of families throughout Fairfield County will light up their luminaries.... 12/10/2010

This is when the Greenwich Library hosts a drop-in class for people that need help with any general computer problems ranging from searching through the internet to problems with Microsoft Word. (Old Greenwich – Sound Beach Ave & Arcadia Road) Tonight from 6pm to 9pm downtown Old Greenwich will play host to the 12th annual First Light Festival. This is a wonderful event when the stores stay open, holiday carolers are out and you can even get a horse-drawn carriage ride. I gather there is a real history behind the paper theater.
