This home sold after 3 short weeks on the market in Hebron CT! If not for the crazy snow storm we had the first 9 days, we may have sold it even sooner!! The house was perfectly prepared for the market and home was in move in condition. Clearly the buyers saw VALUE in the home since we listed it at $489,900 and it sold for $490,000. The transaction was a flawless one with professional and experienced Realtors on both sides of the transaction. The federal debt may be increasing, but revolving debt, largely fueled by credit cards, has been slowly inching downward over the past year as credit-weary consumers continue to tighten their belts to survive in the still sluggish post-recession economy. The Federal Reserve reports that in the first quarter of 2009, U.S. credit card debt fell to $945.9 billion, a $5.4 billion drop over the previous quarter, prompting some analysts to say that American consumers are weaning themselves off easy credit and learning to live within their means. The revere mortgage program has been around since 1987, and during that time hundreds of thousands of seniors have taken advantage of the program.  The only real press that our industry receives is the negative.  There are very few articles that highlight the positive side of the thousands of seniors that are able to remain in there homes, because they don't have a mortgage payment to make, being able to keep them out of foreclosure or prevent bankruptcy, or simply giving them financial independence when they had limited or no options to increase their income, and the list goes on..... So why do reverse mortgages get a bad rap?  I feel there are a couple ...
