Sunday is Open House day here in Manchester, CT, but this Sunday is going to be a little different.  Instead of just promoting my own listing, I am going to be part of a GROUP OPEN HOUSE targeting the homes for sale in Manchester in this particular price range. This idea came up at a recent Brokers Tour and several of us thought it might be worth trying.  We all have houses to sell in the $169,000 to $189,000 range, so we are going to try to generate traffic to all the listings in our group.  We each advertised our own open house independently, but at each location we will post a flyer with the location of the other listings.  Here is my listing at 220 Middle Turnpike East, Manchester, CT which is on the market for $169,900.  Stop in at the Open House on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from ...

The Manchester CT real estate market was a busy one during the month of June, which was completely expected because of the deadline for the first time homebuyers' tax credit.  In June 2010, there were 63 closed sales according to the MLS, compared with 44 sales during June 2009. The median price was down slightly at $192,500 compared with a median price of $199,000 in 2009.  In July, there was a lull as the tax credit incentives disappeared.  There were only 23 closed sales, compared with 46 from July of 2009.  However, the median sales price increased to $210,000, compared to a median sales price of $194,000 in July 2009. Here is the breakdown by price range: Price Range June 2010 June 2009 July 2010 July 2009           Under $100,000 3 1 1 1 $100,000-$149,999 9 2 2 3 $150,000-$199,99...

Manchester CT Realtor Connecticut is home to one of the most diverse and quaint towns in New England, Manchester.  This can be attributed to its multi-cultural atmosphere and small town allure.  One of the reasons why it has been able to remain this way, is that Manchester's  surrounding towns have been a huge draw for years, taking potential residents over time.  This has been shown to have a positive effect however, in the sense that Manchester has managed to maintain a solitude that is all but unrivaled in the Hartford area.  Talk to your Manchester CT realtor and find out why it is such a great place to live. Wickham Park's Sensory Garden in Manchester CT is open!  This new garden, designed to be accessible  and enjoyed by all, is glorious.  With stunning pathways, arbors, sculptures, wind chimes, water feature, a miniature train track, and raised beds showcasing hundreds of different plants, the sensory garden will delight all the senses--sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. I visited it for the first time today and was in awe.  Not only is it beautiful but it is also educational. There are several stations with audio to describe each garden, pointing out each of the planned features.                                  With plenty of seating,  one can sit back and take in the beauty as well as the whimsy. Left in trust by the Wickhams, the original owners, the park has been lovingly main...

Portfolio Recovery Collection Deletion Letter 2 When it comes to credit repair; I often hear the question: "Does that stuff really work?"  The answer is a resounding yes!  In an attempt to document this claim I will be posting this week examples of successful results as they come in. I am posting several deletion letters from Portfolio.  It is best when you can use leverage by having multiple clients.  What scares a collection agency more than a lawsuit?  The answer is simple: a class action lawsuit! Just off of Avery Street on the South Windsor/Manchester town line, is a small subdivision in the Robertson School District. Some of the streets are Baldwin, Bryan, Concord, Macintosh, Pond, Carman, and Cornwall.  Most of the homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s, but a few are newer.  Many of them have been substantially remodeled by subsequent owners.  One of the things that draws people to this area is the layout of the roads. Most of the roads are not cul-de-sacs, but rather they circle around offering no reason for cars to cut through. The only people on the roads are those who live there or are visiting.  As a result, it is a great place for walking, running, or riding bikes. The school district is Robertson Elementary School, which requires bus transportation.  This area offers ...

Wickham Park in Manchester, CT is open for the season! April 3rd was opening day for Wickham Park, and what a glorious day it was!  Wickham Park has to be one of the most beautiful parks in the world, and it's right in our backyard on the Manchester/East Hartford town line. The original park of 130 acres was the Wickham family estate and was known as the Pines. When Clarence Wickham's widow, Edith died in 1960, the estate was designated as a park which officially opened on July 1, 1961.         Over the years, through other donations and land acquisitions, the Wickham Park has grown to 250 acres.  Most of the park's maintenance is taken care of by a trust fund established by the Wickham Family, but some of the expenses are offset by fees and donations.             Major attractions o...
