The information provided will address frequently asked questions and documents that are needed for succesful estate planning. The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be served. On Sun Aug 24, the Marlborough Business Association will host a community wide event, Marlborough Day. The day will feature live entertainment, food, vendors, local businesses and much more. Activities begin at 11am at Blish Park and the event will be held rain or shine with activities taking place under the pavilion. Any civic, church or youth group is invited to particpate as a volunteer to fill the need of community service hours. There are many tasks to do, such as set up and break down, assisting the vendors, and general duties for the day. Parks and Recreation will take a bus trip to the Pumpkin Festival Saturday, Oct 25 in Keene, NH.  While in Keen, you will get to see over 16,000 hand carved and decorated creations and take in Main Street activities, all while listening to music played in the band shell. There will be lunch at Woodbound Inn in Rindge, NH. Lastly, at dusk, there will be a trip to see Grand Illumination. The bus will depart from Marlborough Town Hall at 9am and return at 9:30pm. Fee is $68. Registration deadline is Wed Sept 24. 1st come 1st serve.

Marlborough Parks & Recreation will hold "Mad Science Camp-3,2,1 Blast off!" Aug 4-8 from 9am-noon, in room 147 at Marlborough Elementary School, 25 School Dr, Marlborough, CT. The program is for kids age 7-12 and costs $145. Spend an entire week exploring rockets and the science behind space travel. Lean what it is like to live and work in space like a real astronaut. Investigate various types of rockets, and you can build your very own rocket. Also, get ready to launch a variety of rockets that can soar over 300 feet up. Children will become certified as Mad Science Rocketeers. You'll take home your own rocket and you can even add an (optional) complete rocket launching kit.

A Steak dinner served at the Marlborough Moose Lodge and Family Center put together by the Women of the Moose, will be held, Saturday, July 26 from 5-7pm at 303 South Main St, Marlborough, CT. The steak will be served with a potato, veggie, salad and dessert and you may also choose to have sauteed mushrooms and onions with your steak. The Marlborough Senior Citizens Club will have their picnic of the year Tuesday, June 24 at 12:30PM at the Senior Center, 17 School Drive, Marlborough. If you did not get to put your name on the sign up sheet, you can still come to the picnic, just bring a dish with you. This will be the last meeting for the season. The club will not meet again until September.

The Marlborough Junior Women's Club will collect new and gently used stuffed animals at its bake sale in conjunction with the Richmond Memorial Library this Sat June 7 from 9am-1pm at 15 School Dr, Marlborough, CT/ Stuffed animals, preferably small in size, toys, puzzles, games without small pieces are given to children by local state troopers when the need arises to comfort them when scared or upset, or when their attention needs diverting. The semi-annual bake sale will; be a collection point and the community can drop off a donation while browsing the book and bake sale. The Marlborough Elementary School PTO will host a Scholastic Book fair in the Community Room at the school, 25 School Dr, Marlborough, CT, from June 2-4. Book fair hour are Monday, June 2, from 11am-4pm and 5-8pm. Tues June 3 from 8:30am-4:30pm and Wednesday, June 4, from 8:30am-4:30pm/ All books will be buy one get one free. The fair features books  and educational products, including newly released works, award winning titles, children's classics, interactive software and current bestsellers from more than 150 publishers. American Legion Post 197 and VFW Post 5095, in conjunction with the town of Marlborough, will present the Memorial Day Parade and ceremony Monday, May 26 at 1:45pm. The parade will step off at the Mary Hall/Elmer Thienes School, proceed to South Main St, cross Route 66 and conclude at the Town Hall Veteran's Memorial where the ceremony will be held. In the event of inclimate weather, the ceremony will be held at the school at 2pm. Girl Scout cookies are still available for the next 10 days and, weather and schedules permitting, girls from Cadette/Senior Girl Scout Troop No. 65220 will staff cookie booths at Pat's Market. Cookies available include: Thin Mints, Samaoas, Tagalongs, DoSiDos, Trefoils and Lemon Cremes. Cost is $4 per box. Cookie proceeds are being used to fund the upcoming trips to the West Point Scouting Camporee and to Hammonassett Beach State Park. For the future, Sweden in 2010 is looming. The Friends of the Richmond Memorial Library is sponsoring a program by Candy Anderson, owner and decorator of Interiors by Decorating Den, on Wed, April 30, at 7pm, at Richmond Memorial Library, 15 School Drive, Marlborough, CT. The topic is "Inside Out" , or how to create fabulous outdoor rooms. Anderson will discuss everything from furniture to fireplaces. This program is free and open to the public. The East Glastonbury Fish and Game Club will host a Fishing Derby on sat April 12 from 8am-2pm. Hundreds of trout will be stocked for the event and special prizes will be awarded. Breakfast and lunch will be available; kitchen opens at 6:30am. All ages are welcome; cost is only $10 a rod, and there is a 10 fish limit. The derby will be held rain or shine. The club property is located on Planeta Rd in Marlborough, CT just off West Rd and Rt 2 Eastbound exit 12. From Westbound Route 2 take exit 13, then Route 66 west.
