I wrote the first blog in this series back on September 29 Fall Has Arrived In Middletown Connecticut.  I then followed up with the second blog Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown Connecticut on October 14.  This is now the third blog to show the Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown Connecticut throughout the Fall, and the trees are about at there peak.  The leaves will continue to turn, but they will fall much quicker as the fall wind and rain starts to arrive.  In fact this picture was taken just before we had some rain which took down many of the leaves in this location.  The next picture will most like have much fewer leaves on these trees. As I stated in the previous two blogs the trees in the pictures below are just about a minute's walk from my house.  I hope you enjoy s...

This is the only Candidate Forum that I have seen advertized in Middletown, so this may be the only opportunity to ask your questions and hear what the candidtates have to say.  So make it a point to be at:  Westfield Residents Association Candidates Forum First Congregational Church Miner Street Middletown, Connecticut October 22 At 7:30 p.m. ******************************************...

I wrote a blog back on September 29 Fall Has Arrived In Middletown Connecticut.  The blog was about the trees have started to turn colors.  In that blog I posted a picture of trees that are just about a minute walk from my house.  I also stated in the blog that I would be talking pictures of this same spot at different points throughout the Fall to see the progression of the color of these trees.  Below is the picture that posted in that blog of the Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown Connecticut.   Today is almost two weeks from the time of the first picture above, so I thought that it was time to post a second picture to show the Progression Of Fall Colors In Middletown Connecticut.     As you can see there has been change, but not as much change as I had expected.  I will post a...

Yesterday I went to what most likely will be the last Car Show for the year.  This Car Show was at the Middletown High School in Middletown, CT. and it was suppose to be a large one, but with the threat of rain many of the cars did not show up. I did manage to get a few pictures of some of my favorite cars at the Car Show At Middletown High School, Middletown, CT.   There was even a very special car there, a 1981 Corvette with all the same original parts, and looking exactly as it did the day it was bought for $19,690.44.  This car looked like it just came off of the showroom.   I wanted to take a picture of a 1966 Dodge Charger for my friend William J Archambault Jr, but there were no Dodge Chargers of any year at the Car Show At Middletown High School, Middletown, CT.,  so may be this...

I love Classic Cars, and have enjoyed going to a couple of Car Shows this summer.  But as the cold and snow start to arrive the Car Shows will come to an end. The Middletown High School Car Show is one of the last opportunities that I will have to catch one final Car Show for the Year.  The High School has a huge parking lot that is perfect for a Car Show, and should draw lots of great old classics (and no I don't mean me even though I will be there). I went to the Downtown Middletown Car Show this summer, and it was one of the best ones that I have been to.  I expect the Middletown High School Car Show to be every bit as good. The Middletown High School Car Show will take place next Sunday, October 7th.  Don't miss what may be your last chance to see some assume cars the last time this...

Fall Has Arrived In Middletown Connecticut, and by the way the trees are starting to turn colors, it is shaping up to be a beautiful one.  The picture above is just about a minute walk from my house, and I will be posting pictures of this same spot at different points throughout the Fall to see the progression of the color of these trees. Fall is a beautiful time of the year in New England, but last year was disappointing, because the trees never real turned the beautiful colors that we have become spoiled with.  So far it looks like we will be back to the colors that we have become so accustom to seeing.  My favorites are the trees with yellow, orange, and rust color leafs when they blend together. Fall is a beautiful time of the year in New England, so if you are planning to enjoy th...

The Russell Library In Middletown, CT September Book Sale was held this past Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and as always it was very well attended as it is every month.  The Russell Library In Middletown, CT September Book Sale however, seems to attract a higher attendance than other months.  It my be because kids are back to school or families are done with their vacations, but the attendance always seems to be better. Russell Library has been holding a Book Sale every month for the last several months.  If you missed this one due to lack of notice, you will get an opportunity to attend the next one at the beginning of October.. There wasn't much notice for this one, the signs just went up this week, and the book sale is tomorrow and Saturday. The Russell Library In Middletown, CT Se...

Blue Moon Over Middletown, Connecticut.  A blue moon can truly be a moon that appears to be blueish in color, but the term "Blue Moon" is a term that refers to the second full moon within one month.  This month, August 2012 is such a month.  Two full moons in a month is not as rare as it might sound, it happens every 2 to 3 years, but because it does not happen every year it is special. Last night August 31, 2012 we had the second full moon of this month and it was shinning bright.  Below are two pictures that I took of the Blue Moon Over Middletown, Connecticut.  Even though I was able to zoom in, I wish that I was able to zoom in a little more and get a clearer shot.  But these still captured how bright the moon was shinning last night, especially the second picture.      As you can s...

Children with Autism have very specific needs, especially those in their teenage years.  Autism impacts each of these kids differently and at different levels.  This presents challenges for parents who have a teenage child with Autism.  Parents of Autistic teenage children many times need assistance, as well as a need for a structured program that knows the needs of their child and how to help them.  I am very familiar with a family that has a teenage child with Autism, so I have some first hand knowledge of their experience daily. The RWAF After 3 Program For Teenage Children With Autism is a program that offers such help to parents and their teenage children with Autism.  The program is held after school at the brand new Middletown High School, in partnership with Middletown Public...

Kids will be returning back to school in many communities next coming week.  This will leave the pre-school age children of the family looking for things to do.  So when I saw this sign advertising a Pre-K Literacy Program it got my attention.  This is not only a program that will fulfill the social needs of the younger children in the house, but one that would also help them get a head start on their school years. Kidsartspace Pre-K Creative Literacy Program ia a Non-Profit Creative Arts Studio that provides early reading, and writing skills through creative art lessons.  The Kidsartspace Pre-K Creative Literacy Program runs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with an optional social lunch hour from 11:00 - 12:00. During the 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. time the...

Summer is almost over and many of the camps and Park & Rec programs are coming to an end.  That means that parents will be looking for things to do until school starts up again over the next couple of weeks.  So let me suggest a great place to take the younger members of the family to, KidCity Children's Museum in Middletown, Connecticut. KidCity Children's Museum is a place that younger children, and their parents can spend hours at and still not do everything that they have to offer.  At KidCity Children's Museum in Middletown, Connecticut there are several rooms such as: Musical Planet Room Video Theater Room Reading Room Clubhouse Room Cornfield Room Clipper Ship Room Fishery Room Main Street Room Farm Room Spaceage Road Trip Room Toddler Sea Caves Each and everyone of these rooms ...

The 26th Middletown Connecticut Mud Volleyball Tournament was held yesterday at Zorn's Pond in Middletown, Connecticut.  The tournament raises money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut, and this year the tournament drew more than 192 teams.  The tournament has grown each year, and this year there were over 20 teams on a waiting list.  This is the second year in a row that the Middletown Connecticut Mud Volleyball Tournament was not able accomodate all of the teams that applied.  The picture to the right is of last years tournament winners the Muddy Blumkins. Last year’s the tournament 190 teams and raised $55,000which will be used to help people with epilepsy and their families throughout Connecticut. The final numbers for this year are not in yet, but with two more teams than l...
