European Auto - the BEST Mechanics in Norwalk CTMy goodness!  How can I begin to describe how much I would recommend these fellows at European Auto in Norwalk, CT?    A thousand times over!!!    They are located on West Avenue in Norwalk, CT.  The number to reach them is 203-852-0500 or 203-838-1449.    How easy is that?    Keal Evans, the owner, is a Master SAAB Technician and a ASE Master Technician.   They are located at 539 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850.         We discovered them about ten years ago, and were so impressed with their honesty.   Keal will never tell you anything but the truth about your car, no matter if it means he will not make money for the day.   He told us very honestly that we should not spend any more money on our daughter's car, as it was going to become a m...

Try Learning Something New Every Day! Thanks to Looking at Active Rain blog posts every day, I just opened a PICNIK account, and taught myself how to make a slide show.    Pretty cool!   I am trying it out here to see how it will look.    I cannot remember who had it on their bog post,  but I figured that I   would give it a whirl and see what happened.   Every day, it's important to try to learn something new. I am hosting an open house next weekend for a friend, and being pretty busy at the moment, I thought I would get a head start on creating a post.   Just an idea.    I thought that I would try something new - learning while accomplishing what I needed.   I visited a program named PICNIK. The home for the Open House is located in Norwalk, CT on Perry Avenue.   It's a cute, 3 bedroo...

What is Stew Leonard's Dairy Market in Norwalk CT? Stew Leonard's Dairy Market in Norwalk CT started out many years ago as a little dairy stand, then grew to a small farmers' market, always with cows, chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, etc by the street in pens.   Almost a petting zoo, and definitely an attraction for all of the kids in the area.   I know that my children always wanted to shop there for our food.   As each year went by, the market grew and grew.   Additions kept discreetly being added, out of sight and not exposed until done.   Today Stew Leonard's Dairy Market in Norwalk CT have five or six stores all over the area, even down into Westchester, NY.   They sell all kinds of fresh food, produce from local farms, have their own ranches out west to control the quality of the me...

MORTGAGE RATES ~ 20 Year vs. 30 Year. Time to Refinance???  A case study. Refinancing with a 20 year mortgage does make sense.  When refinancing you want to take a look at monthly payments, percentage rates, term of loan and then at total cost of loan and total interest payments of loan.  If you take a look at the example down below you can see that with lowing your interest rate by 1% and the length of time (term of your loan) of the loan, you can save thousands of dollars. Check with your local Mortgage Broker, Mortgage Banker and Lending Institutions for terms, conditions and rates of current mortgage loans. 20 year mortgages tend to be a 1/8th of a point lower than a 30 year mortgage, check with your local banker. The case study below is just an example and includes principal & in...

We walked for Cindy today - about 30 of us.    We all joined up at the Whittingham Cancer  Center Walk at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk, CT.   It was a super surprise to our best buddy Cindy.     One of her very best friends had her husband, who is an artist, paint a wonderful portrait of her.   We took turns carrying it around like a banner above our heads.   It was attached to a tennis racquet for easier carrying.  It was wonderful to see so many of her and our tennis friends all show up in such mass support for her and her efforts to beat this cancer.    We all were introduced to her doctors and nurses, and had a great visit with all in our Dreamsicle shirts.

A Local Restaurant in Norwalk, CT - Dry Dock Cafe            is a spot my husband and I frequent perhaps as often as twice a week.   It is a casual, comfortable restaurant one can go to in any attire, anytime.    After a busy day selling real estate in the Wilton and Norwalk area, it is the perfect end to the day.The menu, atmosphere, wait staff, clientele, and food are ALWAYS consistently fabulous.    In this recession, we have yet to go there, and not find it very busy.  A lot of restaurants have gone out of business during these last few years.    It is always full, we never wait long, and whether we have a group of 2 or 6 of us, they are always able to accommodate us fairly quickly.   A lot of our friends from Wilton and Norwalk also find The Dry Dock Cafe to be their favorite spot....

Off season for Seaside Park in Norwalk, CT          is a very quiet time.    The benches are empty, the sea gulls happily peck away at the ground undisturbed, and there are no boats to obscure the vista across to Long Island.    The residents who live in the homes in the neighborhood are all aware of the crazy summers, and the beautiful quiet during the rest of the year.  It is worth it to be near such beauty daily. The huge sculptures sit looking very regal and austere against the blue sky.   All is calm.  The few folks who venture into the park have entered knowing it is calm and quiet.   Some have brought their newspapers, some have come to gaze out into the calm waters, and some use the paths for their morning walks. The boat houses across the way on Water Street are also very quiet...

Opportunity Today for Those Less Fortunate I had the opportunity to speak before a small crowd in Norwalk, CT about how the real estate market works, and what awesome opportunities there are for everyone. This was a very special crowd, as they have been thoroughly screened by a department in the Norwalk Housing Authority's Home Ownership Program.  These buyers have been spending the last two to three years cleaning up their credit, finding good jobs, paying all of their bills, and now learning all about home ownership.  Their next step will be to go out to look and then to choose a home to purchase.   Everyone in the room was aware how lucky they were to be given the opportunity to even look at homes, much less purchase one!   And, they were so grateful for it!   They will be given spec...

How to fix your credit in Fairfield CT: Part 3 of a 4 part series In part 1 you obtained your credit report.  In part 2 you disputed your derogatory items and validated your collection accounts.  Now that the 3 credit bureaus have mailed you back your results, what do you do.  First take out that list you made of all your derogatory information.  Now, carefully go through the updated report provided by the credit bureaus and cross off all the accounts that were corrected.  Here's what you do in step 3: repeat step 2 (insert chuckle here).  You are going to repeat the second step and dispute what is left on your credit report.  Here is the #1 mistake people make in repairing their credit - DO NOT send the same letter.  If you do, you will get a reply back that says "previously verified"....

ee what Norwalk has to offer as you become acquainted with this coastal city and it's country suburban neighborhoods. Located only forty miles northeast of New York City and bordering Darien, New Canaan, Westport and Wilton, Norwalk is home to many New York City commuters. Population approx. 83,000. Over the past ten years the community has undergone a revitalization that incorporates historical preservation and beautification, the creation of major office complexes, the improvement of Norwalk's extensive waterfront area, as well as the development of new retail, cultural and recreational offerings.
