Ct Rental Security Deposit Laws & Calculator. In Connecticut Landlords cannot require more than two months’ rent as security deposit. The limit is reduced to one month’s rent if the tenant is 62 years of age or older. The security deposit must be kept in an escrow account in a Connecticut bank. On the security deposit Landlords must pay tenants interest that is determined and published by the Connecticut Banking Commissioner. Pre-Qualification vs. Preapproval Mortgage Letter. Before starting your search of homes it is best to know how much you can afford to spend on a home. Your local mortgage lender will be more than happy to run through the numbers for you. The process of analyzing your income, debt, assets and liabilities will be applied to a formula which calculates how expensive of a home you can afford to buy. Pre-qualification is an informal discussion between borrower and lender. The lender provides an opinion of the loan amount that you can borrow based solely on what you, the borrower, tell the lender. The lender doesn't verify anything and is not bound to make the loan when you're ready to buy. Loan preapproval is based on documented and verified information regarding your likelihood of continued ...

Kitchen outlets sometimes do not work because of a tripped or broken ground fault circuit interrupter.  Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI), also known as a GFI outlets, are required in kitchen and other areas of the house where there is a high likelihood of encountering moisture or water.  GFCI’s are required in kitchens, bathrooms, unfinished basements, garages, and outside outlets.  You will recognize them because they have two little buttons in the middle labeled “test” and “reset.”     If your kitchen outlets do not seem to work, it could be a tripped circuit breaker or a tripped GFI outlet.  First go to your electrical panel, and touch each breaker to see if the handle feels the same pressure as the others. If any of the handles on the breakers feel slightly springy, turn them...
