“Social Media Worked in Manchester, Vernon & Tolland, CT” I have been blogging on a regular basis for 13 months. If you are in business and you have a message, rest assured someone will want to hear it. Below is the blog that I wrote in April and within three days, I took three mortgage applications from folks in Manchester, Vernon and Tolland, CT. These were all folks that owed more on their homes than they were worth and were desperate to refinance, so that they could lower their monthly payments. They all went to their local banks previously and they couldn’t help them, but when they read my blog on this topic, all immediately contacted me. Two of the three loans have already closed, the other will close next week.   “The Harp 2.0 Challenges, Some Old/New Issues” By: Joe Petrowsky, R...

One of my favorite local events is Mug Day at Birch Mountain Pottery. This year it will be on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.   Owner Susan Gerr has been busy making her beautiful mugs and is sure to have the perfect mug for you. I already own many, but each is unique. I think mugs also make the perfect gift because who doesn't like a special hand-made gift?   In addition to a huge selection of mugs, there are also plenty of one-of-a-kind gifts for Mother's Day, graduations, showers, and weddings, including serving bowls, dishes, cream and sugar sets, sushi sets, and decorative pieces.   But the really great thing about Mug Day is that it is a festive occasion, with live music, delicious food and beverages, and a very happy atmosphere.   If you have never been to M...

“Refinancing an 8% Mortgage in Tolland CT”   That’s right 8%! You would be shocked how many 6% to 8% mortgages are still out there. Bill was referred by his neighbor, actually for over a year. Here was a 6' plus imposing figure of a man, when asked why have you not refinanced before this, he answered “THE PROCESS SCARES ME TO DEATH”. He also distrusted anyone in the mortgage business, also mentioned he didn’t have much use for the banks, as they are in the news every day, for something shady.   He told me that in 2006 he had some financial difficulty and needed to take some equity out of his home to pay for some medical bills. Because his credit was not perfect, he had to get one of “THOSE” mortgages. He of course was referring to a subprime mortgage. Not willing to take and adjustable ...

Can you relate to this?So today could be a really bad day, OR a really great day...I'm not really sure why I am even writing this, but I wanted to share what I have learned from 15 plus years of credit repair.1) The legal system is flawed. No big surprise here.I respect the institution, but a lot of the times the court system causes more harm than good.2) Never Give Up. Ever. And when I say "ever" I mean it. Till the last breath of air has been stolen from your lungs, you keep fighting. You have to have a willingness to go the distance in life and in business.Broken, beaten, bloody, no matter what. GET BACK UP.I can tell you it has not been easy, there has been days when it took ever ounce of willpower I have. But when it comes to your kids, or your loved ones. There is never a moment you ...

With total U.S. consumer debt at about $2.42 trillion dollars, according to an August 2010 G.19 report by the Federal Reserve, it’s no surprise that many individuals and families often contemplate controversial solutions in order to pay off loan and credit card debts. As U.S. consumption continues to outpace income, foreclosures increase, and young adult and student debts become more and more of an issue, the desperation to pay down debts continues to grow. Debt is a serious issue all over the country. In a recent letter to a South Oregon newspaper, a man asked advice columnist Bruce if he should raid his retirement account to pay off debt. Such letters exemplify the extreme measures people are contemplating to try to solve their debt problems. The advice seeker complained of having $15...

With tightened mortgage restrictions, many need to push up their FICO score just to obtain a home.  Researchers have recently analyzed interest rate quotes using the real estate website Zillow.com.  Alarmingly, their findings show that those with credit scores of 620 or below are likely unable to obtain a mortgage at all in today's market. According to reports, provided by FICO, over 25% of all American adults fall into this category.  With a quarter of the population having virtually no access to legitimate mortgage loans, the services of credit repair specialists are absolutely crucial while banks continue to protect themselves from risk. Another quarter of the US population is represented by FICO scores between 620 and 720.  According to experts, records kept by Zillow.com show that ...

one day a blond decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house, while her husband is off at work Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and detects the distinctive smell of paint. He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He notices that she is wearing a ski jacket and a fur coat at the same time. He goes over and asks her if she is OK. She replies, "Yes." He asks what she is doing. She replies that she wanted to prove to him that not all blonde women are dumb and she wanted to do it by painting the house. He then asks her why she has on a ski jacket and a fur coat. She replies that she was reading the directions on the paint can and they said, "For best results, put on two coats." ☺  MattToll Free: 888-NCFIXER (623-4937)Toll...

The CARD ACT does NOT cover business credit cards! In an attempt to work around the restrictions imposed by the new Credit CARD Act, some credit card issuers have started offering small-business credit cards. Called "professional" credit cards, these credit offers are going out not only to small business owners and entrepreneurs but to unsuspecting consumers. I would advise business owners and consumers to carefully read all the fine print before they apply for one of these cards.  Unbeknownst to those who sign up, professional credit cards are not covered under the federal government's new credit card regulations and can wind up burdening card holders with sky-high interest rates and hefty penalty fees. No law restricts issuers of professional credit cards from jacking up interest rat...
