The Fall Colors are Trying to Come Out in Central CT, Part 2There is no doubt that we are into the fall season and this morning we had our first frost. The colors on the trees are starting to really come out.Last week, the colors surrounding the fifth green were just starting to show.A weel later we really have a burst of color as well as a more bright and sunny day, albeit a little brisk at 40 degrees. The colors are very noticeable along the roadways but it's hard to take a photo and drive at take a photo at the same time. I would not be surprised if we are closer to peak next week.I guess I'll just have to take a walk past that same green next week. The Fall Colors are Trying to Come Out in Central CT, Part 2

The Fall Colors are Trying to Come Out in Central CTAs I was making my way across the fairways over the weekend, I noticed hints f the trees getting ready to offer up their colors. There were hints of color coming from the oak tree at the back of this green. Unfortunately, the day was overcast, courtesy of Ian's tail, but I am hoping that when we get a sunny day, it will show much better.I have a view in mind that always impresses with colors and will try to do a modified presession just not to steal any of George Souto  thunder. The Fall Colors are Trying to Come Out in Central CT

Friday Flags at a Waterbury CT CemeteryI was going into a cemetery in Waterbury CT to give a few moments of respect for a family member on what would have been their birthday. Directly across from my stop was a flag flying proudly in the breeze. The flag was billowing and against the backdrop of the tree with the onset of fall colors it just sparkled. The flag stood over a memorial to deceased Veterans not only in the cometary but also the town. What made it dear to me is it stood across the driveway from the grave of a highly decorated WW2 veteran I came to visit.Friday Flags at a Waterbury CT Cemetery

Friday Flags in Waterbury CT,  AgainThere is a public park in the East Mountain section of Waterbury that is always a hub of activity.  Seasonal there re little league baseball games, soccer games, basketball is constant, and for the younger kids, a playscape and splashpad. The flag on the grounds was blowing with the stiff breeze that was behind it, and it was stirring and proudful. It is a view that a true American can never get too much of.Friday Flags in Waterbury CT,  Again

Friday Flags in Waterbury CT Western Hills GCI had the opportunity to play in a 2-day tournament, part of which was played at Western Hills Golf Course, a municipal course in Waterbury CT.The course is most challenging, with lots of hills and small fast greens protected by deep bunkers.Just as one enters the grounds the flag flies proudly right next to the club house.I had a good round with a net of 68 just not good enough to place as my previous round the day before was not so good.It is almost a certainty that a flag would fly at a golf course, and at the very least, I am willing to make the sacrifice to find another course to keep the Friday Flag flying.Friday Flags in Waterbury CT Western Hills GC

Waterbury  CT Mid Year 2022 Real Estate Market AnalysisThe past 2-plus years have been extraordinary for real estate across the country. It has been consistent here in Connecticut as well. In the world of real estate, the exuberance of the business that had started in 2019 started to slow as people became wary of venturing into homes not knowing who was there or their state of health. Likewise, sellers were wary of having people come into their homes and possibly bringing in a bacterial issue that would infect their families. As people became more confident in going outside and held to precautions, the market began to flourish. In 2020, the market sales or absorption rate was 78 sales per month, with a median sales value of $154,900 and median days on market of 36. In 2021, the market s...

Friday Flags in Waterbury CTFor those that care, there is nothing as uplifting as seeing our flag fluttering in a breeze. As the wind swirls, the flag will wave as if the breeze is just there to appreciate the view.Such was the case this past weekend as the winds were strong   in our area. I happened to pass the East Mountain golf course in Waterbury, CT and the tall pole with the flag waving was hard to miss. Many a day as a kid, we would come down the 18th fairway and that flag would stand tall over the clubhouse. As one of the oldest public courses in this area of the state, the East Mountain course still offers a challenge, and for me, I don't remember those holes being so long.Friday Flags in Waterbury CT

Washington Park Community Center, Waterbury CTI grew up in the South End of Waterbury CT near Washington Park. The community center was a place for Friday night dances, the concession stand is where we all got cold beverages in the summer and hot cocoa in the winter while ice skating on the flooded baseball fields. On the green in front of the building is the flagpole as well as a restored WW! German cannon. It once rested in another part of the park and as kids we would climb all over it and pretend to be in battles. The park is very active at all times of year and adjacent to the community center is a recreational pool that is very busy on warm summer days.  Other areas of the park are ideal for a summer picnic and just relaxing under the trees.Friday Flags  Washington Park Community C...

Easter Wishes to All 2022For most Christians, today, Easter Sunday is a day of celebration, and all will attend church services as a way of giving thanks. We attended our vigil services Saturday so as to allow my wife time to prepare the dinner we were hosting. The service was well attended and all were happy to wish the greetings for a Happy Eater even if a little early. However you spend the day enjoy with those you are near and give a special thought to those that were not able to be there.  Easter Wishes to All 2022
