Friday Flags at the Gazebo Watertown CT for Veteran's DayJust across the road from the Town Hall Annex in Watertown CT is a small island on which is a gazebo.  It is always seasonally decorated.As I drove by, it was appropriate that I take a photo of the Gazebo especially as it was so close to the November 11 Veteran's Day Holiday.It was a bright day and the red maples in the background made the flags and the Gazebo seem brighter.November 11 was originally Armistice Day, and the end of World War I. Friday Flags A Double Shot in Watertown CTWhile walking towards the Pro Shop at Crestbrook Park so I could get a cart to take my progression photos, I had to stop to appreciate the 2 flags  in front of me.The closer flag is on the snack shack where golfers top as they are making the turn to the second nine.In full view is the flagpole in front of the pro shop/With a little patience, I was rewarded with a breeze that unfurled the pole flag so I could capture both. The only issue being the bright sun in the foreground that created the haze.While it isn't my best capture, I am still happy to see a flag in the breeze. Friday Flags  A Somber Flurry in Watertown CTIt's actually a sad day throughout Connecticut as today is the funeral for the 2 police officers from Bristol that were ambushed this week.  No shootings make sense, but this was bizarre and totally without sense or remorse.I was getting my foliage photos and saw the flag, even at Half-mast still waving proudly. Wordless Wednesday Litchfield County in CT is in Falling ColorOn my Wednesday morning visit to Watertown Ct, I again went by the golf course at park to take a look at the progression of the colors. Last week, the colors appeared to be in peak show and this week the hues are more subdued.The top of the secnd hole looking across the valley was right last week:And within a week, a lot of the colors have fallen to the ground.The 6th fairway was similar from week to week:By next week there will be very little color left on the trees. Friday Flags in Watertown CTIt seems that a perfect location to find a flag proudly waving would be at any type of recreational area. While it is a given for state and federal buildings, it is a rare site at businesses.I was at Crestbrook Golf course on Wednesday morning for a senior's league event and the flag was proudly fluttering at the top of its pole.That little bit of breeze made the flag look striking, but it would raise havoc with the flight of the golf ball.The first fairway is a tough walk, all uphill, but the par at the end made it worth the effort.
