I met my dauther in law and 6 year old granddaughter at Lavender Fields yesterday. The farm used to comprise of 100 acres but now is only 5. Ther are many different settings on the five acres to enjoy. There are rows and rows of lavender plants with a multitude of butterflies flitting from one plant to another. There are butterfly gardens, vegetable and flower gardens and a zen garden. I especially wanted to go to Lavender Fields yesterday because the Dahlias are at their peak. Volunteers tend to the dahlias each year encouraging the blooms to become as large as possible. There was a plein air artist sitting in this garden capturing the beauty of some of the blooms. There is a labyrinth surrounded by tall evergreens to walk and reflect. There are two shops on the property with lots of tre...

Why Re-Invent the Wheel.  I am an out going person and I think what I consider to be very funny.  I generally can get away with saying things others can't or won't say.  But with most buyers (only) I try and make it a fun experience, because as you know they buy on emotion.  So I really want them to enjoy their time with meand get involved emotionally.  I work, well the word work is a strong word (because if you look at my hands, you would be hardpressed to find calluses or cuts, bruises or scars from physical labor), I tend to do what I need to do to be successful in real estate.  This so called work as I would call it takes me about 12 hours a day, sometimes more. But when I relax after the long day, I will just sit at my computer and listen to You Tube to my favorite music or comedy ...

This Saturday, December 12th, 2009, is the 20th Annual Holly Festival in Milton, Delaware. This is one of the most popular events of the year and there is something for everyone throughout the town. The Holly Fest vendors and crafters fill the Fire House and Goshen Hall, both located in the heart of town. From 9 am - 3 pm make sure to visit the Milton Garden Club and pick up your greens, poinsettias and wonderful gifts. Last year, I did most of my Christmas shopping right here at the Holly Festival. From 10 - 2 pm, Santa will be at Goshen Hall and yours truly will be taking photos, with your camera or with mine! My husband Bill built Santa's station and members of the Chamber of Commerce are already decorating and prepping for the best year ever. Then, from 2 - 6 pm you can enjoy the Mi...

There is an active group of small business owners that make up the Milton Chamber of Commerce. Tonight the June Mixer was hosted by the Milton Garden Club. Kathryn Greig's personal garden was the site and what a beautiful garden for a party. If the other gardens on the tour - July 11th - are anything like Kathryn's garden we are all in for a treat.     I was the winner of two tickets to the Milton Garden Tour! That's what I call the "Grand Prize"!

On Saturday, June 6th, 2009, the town of Milton, Delaware was abuzz. All 850 tickets were sold out for the 6th Annual Summer Bash happening right in the heart of town. Last year the event was a fundraiser to elect Jack Markell the next Governor of Delaware. This year, Governor Jack Markell welcomed all and hosted this year's fundraiser for the Food Bank of Delaware! It was a beautiful day with temperatures in the 70s, not the sizzling 90s of last year's bash. The talent this year - PAM TILLIS - probably had something to do with the size of the crowd.       I hope you enjoyed the Summer Bash video and I look forward to seeing you at one of the great events we have throughout the year in my home town - Milton, Delaware!

What a perfect day for a Broker's Open House! All those April showers did produce some wonderful May flowers AND it's a beautiful sunny day. Between 12 and 3 pm, 15 agents came through my listing and 3 other homes in the town of Milton, Delaware. ARE BROKER'S OPEN HOUSES EFFECTIVE IN YOUR MARKET? Ask me in a few weeks if this one was effective. If any of today's agents end up working with the right kind of buyer, they were very impressed with what they saw. Will their buyer be qualified? Will they be able to get financing? Will they be looking for this kind of house in town? If they are, these agents will know where to take them. This house is a renovated home in the Historic District. It was gutted and updated to today's standards for energy efficiency and comfort. Using the principles...
