Sweetbay Supermarkets opened its first store in Largo, Florida in November 2004. Today there are 107 stores as far South as Naples and North to Gainesville. Tampa-based Sweetbay Supermarket will close seven underperforming grocery stores, including three in Hillsborough County, advised a company spokesman for Belgian parent, Delhaize Group. The remaining four stores targeted for closing are in Fort Myers, Sarasota and Charlotte County. The three Hillsborough stores are located at 1247 Kingsway Road in Brandon, 1101 Bloomingdale Ave. in Valrico, and 789 Cortaro Drive in Wimauma near Sun City. All Pizzas are not the same! For years I have heard pizza joints claim they have the best pizza. “Chicago style pizza here!” or “New York Pizza, eat in or take out!” Until I went to The Pizza Zone right on the border of the cities of Tampa and Brandon, I did not know the difference. Me, I’m a guy that picks up the phone and “get it done” guy. So I call closest "we deliver fast," national franchise brand pizza house. I have been doing that for years. But, apparently a lot of people do because every church function, every kids party or you name the occasion, orders the same brand name pizzas.
