On Top of the World in Clearwater Florida Condo Sales Statistics for September 2009 On Top of the World is a 55+ retirement community located in beautiful Clearwater, Florida and offers convenient access to U.S. Highway 19 as well as to downtown Dunedin and Clearwater Beach. Well, it has finally happened!!! Way back in February I wrote a contract on a REO property. Last week it closed! It was a fight to the finish! The entire thing was being handled by a group of attorneys in Ft Lauderdale. The condo involved is here in Clearwater, the listing agent lives in Tallahassee and the bank that held everything was in Utah.........do you see where I am going with this??? It was a MESS - people not responding for weeks to requests for information, a large law firm with too many people working on the file and nobody telling the rest of the group what they were doing. The fact what the buyer was up in Canada was the EASY part - he at least responded to e-mails and phone calls! The board of state-run Citizens Property Insurance approved raising rates for most Citizens' policyholders by 10 percent next year. After a heated debate Wednesday, Citizens also agreed to cap any rate cuts at 10 percent as well, rejecting a committee recommendation that rates remain frozen for those customers. This is not good news by any means but is important for home buyers in Florida to know. I received an email asking me about the latest Clearwater, Florida real estate statistics. The latest statistics for June 2009 was published by the Pinellas Realtor Organization (P.R.O.). They have published the latest averages and while averages do not necessarily reveal much considering that it is the value obtained by dividing the sum of a set of quantities by the number of quantities in the set it helps to quantify something for home buyers (and home sellers.) In my market I have met hundreds of Realtors that are ready to Stage, "When I get an appropriate property."  What?  I have Staged properties from the luxury, multi-million dollar range all the way down to $70,000. ALL benefit!!
